    brake check on the 401

It's never a good idea, especially in front of "unsympathetic" drivers like this Russian bus driver http://youtu.be/FG1qcIAFSwg

    Broken spark plug

Not necessarily the end of the world, as stated above you may be able to withdraw the electrode with a damaged bolt extractor. Filings will most likely come from the plug threads and be withdrawn with the electrode, so if you're careful to blow the area out as you withdraw the busted plug you'll...

    curious about m2 exit test

The 18 month window only applies if you've taken an approved rider training course, otherwise it's 22 months. The clock for that period starts ticking from the day the MTO upgrades your class to M2. No, you cannot take the M2 exit test/course prior to your upgrade date and successfully obtain...

Looking for machinist to vent a ducati dry clutch engine case

Should not affect clutch life, the benefits are debatable. When I switched to a belt/dry primary on my Commando I had it vented with stainless mesh inserts to keep the big stuff out.

Bringing the Bike to a Stop

From the video publisher: "All upshifts are done by quickly rolling off throttle while simultaneously shifting adding pressure to the shift lever with my foot. It does no harm to the transmission or clutch. It's a technique that I use on the track and rarely use it on the street at street...

Bringing the Bike to a Stop

Again, people are confusing braking and active downshifting, two separate things. The OP asked about bringing the bike to a stop. Standard braking procedure is to apply both brakes while simultaneously disengaging the clutch and tapping the bike into first (passive downshift). Active...

Bringing the Bike to a Stop

Don't confuse active with passive downshifting. For now, just practice standard braking in a straight line by pulling in both levers, applying the rear brake and downshifting all at the same time... both hands/both feet simultaneously. Your focus should be on progressive application of both...

Oakville Yamaha stocks Kriega stuff. Just picked up the R15 myself, their rucksacks are hydration pack compatible, practically bullet proof and one of the best designed motorcycle specific packs you can buy. The strap system is so well designed you can hardly tell your wearing anything at all...

    Kids on the back?

Biggest issue with kids on the back will always be the wing-nut parent. It's the parents that have have consider all the variables (their child's attention span, maturity, physical condition etc.), and unfortunately there are many that cannot make the appropriate call. I once had a father show...

Kawi ZX6R Oil Filter screwed way too tight by a dealer

LOL... hahahahaha..... try driving out a stubborn wheel bearing without one, or better yet get a few builds under your belt and then come back to table. Too funny.

Kawi ZX6R Oil Filter screwed way too tight by a dealer

You'd accomplish a lot, and with some basic common sense and care won't damage a thing. Most of the damage caused to bearing surfaces, threads etc... can be avoided by simple application of moderate heat. It's why you'll find a heat gun in almost any shop.

    Head Gasket Blown R1

Theoretically, if there's no damage to the cylinders (deck, bores etc..) you can source a new head. However, you will still have to strip the barrels off to check piston clearances, new rings etc... not mention any valve work that may have to be done to whatever head you manage to find. At that...
