Where to get good moly grease (6o% moly or more)

Just learned the hard way that the splines on the rear end of my G Wing need to be greased with at least 60% moly. Dow Corning's Molykote G-n paste has 70%. Anyone know where to get it? Can I get high quality moly grease at auto parts stores? Any help appreciated. Thanks

    Leave this abusive relationship!

This is the third winter I've been watching a bike sit out under a ripped tarp. I tracked the guy down this fall and it turns out it's actually a harley. He had to take it off the road because he needed a car and wasn't interested in selling it - thinks he will be riding it next summer. Chances...

Best dual sport or something along those lines?

Can't believe I wasted the time to read this whole thread and then you buy another street bike. Having come this far I'll mention that one day in the ganny on borrowed dirtbikes was enough to go out and buy a used DRZ400. I sold a FZ6 to finance the DS. Still have a Goldwing for street and...

    Headsets or not???

Is the sena a rechargable battery unit or do I need 12v plug in for it? I'm already thinking I'll run a 12v plug in to the back seat and let the Squeeze take care of the ipod.

    Intercoms/Bluetooth...What to buy??

Elton can I listen to podcasts from an ipod with this set up? Does it run on disposable batteries or can it be recharged, say in the hotel over night? Thanks

    Headsets or not???

Thanks to all. The Sena units look like the product of choice. I had a look at the link (thanks MSRP) but it wasn't clear how the ipod would connect. We got hooked on podcasts of favorite programs on long car trips so having the ability to listen to these would be great. Would it work the same...

    Headsets or not???

Over the last 3 summers the Squeeze and I have taken four separate week long trips into the US. We ride with full face lids and I wear earplugs. Communication is little more than a few standard hand gestures (tap on the knee, flash the thumbs up and she recipricates - All is well) And the...

Litre bikes that redefined the class

Just to mix things up lets consider the Honda GL1000 (aka Goldwing). Debuting in 1975 this clean sheet design was originally intended as a naked muscle bike but soon became the undisputed king of a class it pretty much created.

Problems with Motorcycle Drag racing in Ontario

FWIW - I was down to St Thomas for test and tune twice this past summer. It was first time ever at the drag strip as a participant rather than spectator. I had a blast. Pulling up to the start from the staging lanes was the beginning of a huge rush. Both times I got in a good number of passes...

Roll call for King of the Street

I had the Team Zebra goldwing out to St Thomas drag way this past summer, where does this action go down?

    Any cheap camping in Ontario?

Don't be so quick to pan this one. Friends and I do a fair bit of "camping rough", "stealth" or "vagrant" camping. I ride a wing now and that won't change much. Usually we don't have to traverse anything worse than a bad gravel driveway. No we are never sure if the land is public or private...

How far would you go on an old bike?

Suprised no one has yet mentioned Robert Pirsig and Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance. The book is based on an actual road trip that he made 2 up with son on a bike smaller than your CB360 - about a 300cc machine if memory serves me. I've done week long trips on bikes built in the 70's...

First Major Long Distance Tour Plan

A little more info please. Are you tenting or hotel action? All bought meals or will you be doing your own cooking? Just looking to super slab on the miles or two lane it on all the backroads? Again just out for mileage or are there special sites you want to see? How far you plan to travel...

    Transporting Bike in truck bed

Skip the rachet straps and go for the cam buckle style instead. Much quicker and simpler. I never used to strap the rear but a friend suggested a third strap on the rear is good insurance should you have to slam on the brakes or worse get into a head on collision.

Motorcycle storage tips for tight garage

I built my garage almost 20 years ago. The only car that wintered in it was for a couple years when the Squeeze thought owning an old VW would be fun - that passed.

Cold weather RIDING gear - awesome ICE FISHING clothing found!

Sledding gear works good too. That said I have a heated vest and that's all I need under my bike stuff. Mimico Ploak forget the heated gloves and go old school! I used my mom's old snowmobile muffs for over the handle bars and they work great. No extra draw on the juice when you already have...

Is this the beginning of the end for Harley?

If you're referring to the LC from the V-Rod didn't the Germans help out with that (Bosch or BMW??) I think it was Jason who mentioned stereotyping harley riders but arn't they already a stereotype? Black beanie, wrap around sunglasses, goatee, HD t-shirt, with optional black jacket and chaps...

    Got vintage?

Hey, Rstnick Good to see you're still collecting 650's. I ended up trading mine for a couple snowblowers... I spent about 4 summers on a 2006 FZ6 but sold that to finance a DRZ400 dual sport - twist the throttle all you want without fearing the MAN! Still "got vintage" though, I bought an 86...

Looking for people to do some dual sporting with.

Sled trails: Yes I meant before the snow and included a question mark because I just didn't know. At the end of the day it would appear there's a bunch of us who want to go riding but collectively we don't really know any trails in or around London. Is that pretty much the truth?
