This post was supposed to be a "reply with quote" the quote being that in a free society people should have the choice not to wear a lid. (I botched it somehow)
This is not a free society. We pay taxes. When those without helmets pay their own medical bills then it's their choice.
Here's the...
The Squeeze & I took 8 days to get down and ride the Cherahala Skyway. A great part of the trip was West Virginia. We rode 19 down and 16 back up. These are two great roads. They twist and turn up and down through the mountains with hardly a straight stretch. Literally you will barely travel a...
You likely wouldn't have seen our tents, the key to free (vagrant) camping is to slip out of sight. Looking at 50 in the rear view mirror I'm not getting any younger either but still camping.
And yes the Rupert was diverted when we went.
WTF!!!
the V twin has 2 cylinders displacing about 375cc each where as the inline 4 has 4 cylinders each about 187cc
Back to the original question I recently turned down buying a bike because it had too FEW miles for it's age. I want to buy a bike that's been used some not one that has been...
Perhaps I didn't make the point clearly, which is, if the 883 is comparable to the Bolt (and you both seam to suggest it is) then I wouldn't buy either.
As much as I like the style neither the power delivery or the seating position were appealing.
Always figured if I was ever to break down and buy a harley it would be a nice light 883 sporty.
Recently I demo'ed a Yamaha Bolt which reminds me a lot of the 883, however I was barely into the demo before I realized how much I disliked the both the power delivery and the seating position...
Thanks. Google street view shows 560 as being paved but I was concerned about the Sultan road. Glad to hear the gravel is good - not so keen on the logging trucks. If New Liskard to the 144 is only 140kms then the Sultan road must be under a 100. Piece of cake.
When we rode up to James Bay we...
Did this ride a while back (late may or june) and although it's no day in the Ganny it was still a fun ride close to home.
Last time two buddies on 650s had a bit of trouble with big puddles on street oriented tires but it should be much dryer now and no problem w/o knobbies.
Hoping to get...
From the south of Spain (Gibralter) you can take a 2 hour ferry ride and be in Africa for the day. The Squeeze and I did this when we back packed Europe in '88.
Sorry can't help with a bike rental.
Actually there IS an alternative to paint - Fabric. I've used it on two different bikes with great results.
I used 3M spray glue. I can do a tank, side covers and a tailpiece in an afternoon. If you get bored with it just peel it off and clean off the glue with some wd40.
In a couple weeks we're headed to Thompson Manitoba and my buddy wants to take 560 to avoid some transcan.
I'm interested in 560 west to the Sultan Industrial road and then west to 667 and eventually Chapleau. The Sultan Industrial road is a private road with public access. Google maps only...
Did that trip in 09 or 10 and never saw a cop north of Matagimi. Only the frost heaves kept our speed in check.
Didn't spend a night in any motels though - vagrant camping all the way......
Rode the trail this past Sunday and was a little optimistic that it might be doable on a street bike. There were some huge puddles at the start and a number of good sized ones further along. (much bigger than anything seen in the video)
I had no trouble on my knobbie clad DRZ400 but a DR650 &...
