I like my frog toggs. Had them about 4 or 5 seasons now. The one thing is that the material goes "pilly" like an old wool sweater. But so far they still work.
Tip - pull up the attached hood before putting on your helmet. That way no water can sneak in at your neck and run down your back.
No I think the worst part about rain riding is snaking for miles down a mountain on an interstate passing a convoy of fracking trucks and realizing the mist and rain coming from the front wheel well of the truck you're passing is really his smoking brakes
Consider #19 & 16 in WV. They meet just south of the new river gorge bridge. Each one could be a whole day of endless curves, up and down mountain sides. Literally not one straight mile. Of course it's depressed coal country so the view is lots of lush forest, run down towns, unpainted houses...
Anyone know if it's true that this impact wasn't noticed until hydro quebec built a dam that flooded it? I'd heard that.
As to this summer the Squeeze and I are thinking about a lap of lake Michigan. Another ghost town / light house tour. She's already keen to ride the Macinac bridge again...
Who's up to ride this weekend? 7 day forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a high above 10 both days. My preference is Saturday but Sundays good if it works better for someone else.
Sorry guys I screwed up. I'll be rebuilding my deck this coming weekend so it will have to be the 25th or 26th for me.
I can give directions if anyone wants to go down next weekend.
Sorry for the mix up
Who's up for Sunday the 19th. I think I can do that - working on the 18th.
Just started rebuilding my deck so will likely screw the weekend after next (25/26) but maybe....
Mike - You're right the DRZ is not the best street bike (especially after trimming an inch out of my seat...) . I rode down from St Marys and by the time I got home we had logged maybe 300km so I was a bit sore but that said I would ride down again rather than mess with the trailer.
Demon Pig -...
+1 if you want it done right.
You could save a little travel by meeting him in Dorchester on the 1st thursday of any month. (that's when the london section of the CVMG meets and he's out to most meetings - Donnybrook legion 8pm)
Let me know if you get the seat open w/o a key. I'm trying to remove the seat of a 78 CB750F with no key. I was able to remove both the cotter pin and the hinge pin but that didn't free the hinge side the way I thought it would. I have yet to check seat hinge on my 76 supersport......
If you intend to demo ride bikes at Ride for Sight get there early Friday. The rides are at a much quicker pace on Friday when there are fewer riders and fewer cars around. We did about 5 demos last year on Friday and most were well above the speed limit.
The leader for one brisk ride asked how...
Kijiji grief is my best friend when going to buy a bike.
"Here's 500$ and I'll be back XXX with my trailer and the rest of the cash. It's less than you're asking but then you're done with all the stupid emails asking for more pictures and all the people you wait all day for and then they don't...
The DRZ is a great bike** but putting street tires on it (going the SM route) just seems wrong.
**but it seems to follow with Suzie's past of some times sketchy electrics....
Anyone up to ride the abandoned rail line west of St Thomas? Did it last spring with 2 friends on 650s (a KLR & DR) both with 80/20 tires. They had some fun getting through some of the large mud puddles. My DRZ400 with kenda trackmasters was the perfect set up.
This line runs as far west a...
Anywhere we can find a level spot for tents, a supply of fire wood and can't be seen from the road - AKA vagrant camping.
Few amenities but you get what you pay for .....
My friends and I really enjoy vagrant camping ( I like the term camping rough). We've done this in northern ontario, in quebec on our way up to Jame Bay and again last summer when we headed to thompson manitoba. We just head down a gravel road road or into a field that appears to hide our spot a...
