Seat shaving? Vs lowering a bike?

I could not imagine shaving my seat even if I needed too. The ZX6r seat isn't the most comfortable or cushy, shaving it seems like a painful idea. With the obvious anatomical differences perhaps you will still be comfy. :D

What size bike should I get?

I have been driving since pretty much everyday since I turned 16, I've always had my own car. Fast-forward a few years to when I got my first motorcycle at 40. I started on a new 2012 Ninja 250 and I do agree with most that you feel like you out grow that size of bike very quickly. Even...

    motorcycling

This time of year I have some second thoughts about all the money I put towards this new hobby. Once spring gets here and that first twist of the wrist of the season all these "doubts" will be gone. All that will be left will be a smile from ear to ear. The sound and feeling of red lining a...

    What is Your Favorite Jacket?

I love my white Icon Overlord Prime Leather Jacket. The Prime is an "attack fit/sport fit" and it does fit pretty snug. It is perforated leather so it does breathe a little but I am not gonna lie, it is damn hot on summer days. One of the reasons I went white was to help a little on those...

    Grading Roads - any tips

Groved roads used to freak me out too, even at 50 to 60 KPH I was like an old lady riding slow and scared. Then I was on the 401 doing some runs and hit like 10kms of them straight it seemed. After a few minutes at 120 on that surface my "fear" was gone. Like others said, loose on the bars...

    Highway speed and wind

When I had my Ninja 250 last year I really felt the wind on the highway. I would actually avoid riding on 80kph roads on windy days. This year I upgraded to a 600cc and it did make a huge difference, the first day I picked it up wind was gusting terribly but it didn't slow me down. Now I...

    Advice On Gixxer Exhaust (Slip-on)

Where's the best place to buy or order online for m4? I was looking at getting one but local places don't seem to carry them.

How far over the 1000 km first service can I go?

That first 1000km on a new bike disappear so fast, I booked by first service appoint the same day I picked up my ZX6R. The next week I was back in to see if they could squeeze me in earlier than my scheduled appointment LOL.

How far over the 1000 km first service can I go?

On my 2012 Ninja 250 I had first service at 1600km. On my 2012 Ninja ZX6R I did it at 1400km. I called my service department and they were not too concerned at the time.

    Dealership Scam?

Agreed with others, they took it around the block for a quick test spin. My first bike, 2012 Ninja 250 was new but had 6kms on it when I picked it up. I knew it was new as they had to put the bike together out of the crate, the 6kms was from the test ride. I had no concerns. When I picked...

They weren't calling for rain today

There are a couple of us at work who rode in today. At lunch we were all like WTF? It was done here before 1pm so I never got wet when I took lunch at 1:15pm. THough this is the first time my bike has seen rain or wet roads.

    Mcycle injury stats.....where to protect??

Mine seems to always stay in place, have not tested in a crash yet LOL. I ride with them on 95 percent of the time, if I pop out for a quick lunch I may opt not to put them on. But they tuck into my boots and the between the straps and my jeans they don't move around too much. I may have to...

    Best Motorcycle Movies/Videos?

Watched that on the weekend actually. Was laughing at how the tires changed magically depending on the terrain the bikes were riding on. I am tempted to get knobby tires for my ZX6R to do some dirt biking.

    Question concerning turns

GREAT ADVICE. Safe for you and for others. The above posts are the basics. A good video to watch is Twist of the Wrist 2. It is for both seasoned riders and new riders. I watched it several times this winter and I found it really helped me starting my second riding season.

    Hotter than hell out there

I didn't ride today but rode over the weekend, yesterday was almost as hot. If I did ride today I would have been in my Icon Overlord Prime Leather, Full Gauntlets, Draggin Jeans, Knee/Shin guards and TCX boots. Yes it is hot but I prefer my skin on my body and not on the pavement. Plus as...

Armored Shorts... Anyone using them under their gear? Recommendations?

I have Knox Cross Shorts too. Have not worn them yet this year though I need to get back in the habit now that I am starting to get more adventurous on my new bike. Only reason I have not worn them is that I have a surgical scar right where one of the hip protector sits when I am riding. Was...

    The Weather Channel and Riding

I was about to post a similar thread about TWN. You can talk about percentages all you want but calling for Thundershowers ALL DAY and NIGHT and all we end up with is sunshine??!!!!! I mean at least give me some clouds in the sky to go along with the "chance of rain".
