Rear end slides (sideways) under hard breaking

Again, its not a habit like I forget I have front brakes or something. I use my front brake when I have to, but when I am cruising along I leave enough room to stop with my back brake only. When I need to stop quickly, I use my front brake. If I didnt use my front brake ever I would have done...

Rear end slides (sideways) under hard breaking

25 years of riding never had a problem yet, probably will keep doing it my way.

Rear end slides (sideways) under hard breaking

For street riding, I like to ride conservatively enough to only use the back brake + engine braking 95% of the time. I treat my front brake like an emergency brake for when I absolutely have to stop way shorter than I originally thought I would, like coming up to a light that changes...

FZ6R, Radiator fan vents under throttle control?

I just recently picked up a used FZ6R, got a chance to ride it yesterday, and I noticed when the fan kicks on it seems to blow the hot air out the "vent" thats right under the throttle. This means pretty much any time I'm stopped in traffic, the bike is blasting my right arm with hot air. It...

    Having difficulty selling your bike?

I wasnt trying to imply you were scamming, I was just saying that I agree with the guy who says the detail about the ownership status seemed conflicting. Its possible you can say something you believe to be true but isnt actually, again like people who have told me "Yeah this bike is totally...

Any older riders get better quotes than Wawanesa for super sports?

For the FZ6R all state actually one of the highest quotes, same for car and renters insurance. Like I said, I would love to bring my car over as well, but I'm only paying 700 a year for it. The closest quote I could get to that was 2400 with wawanessa.... So I'm not going to lose 1700 dollars...

    Having difficulty selling your bike?

Yeah, I can, i just have run into a lot of people that are under the impression you can get a salvage titled bike (or irreparable now I guess?) turned back into a fit bike because you could up until 10 years ago. The law changed, not everyone knows that. You could also be talking about going to...

Hilarious Kijiji Bike and Stuff Ads

I guess theyre thinking it shows how lightly used the bike was and how good care was taken of it even when it was sitting? But yeah if I was going to buy that bike, id want them to replace the tires before I took ownership of it.

Saw a supersport today, but it took a while.

I love that ****. You see a lot of guys saying "Cant really see these indicators/headlight/tail light during the day but... " The only but there is yours on top of a car hood when you get run over because no one sees you.

    Having difficulty selling your bike?

You didnt address either of things he mentioned. Does your bike have a valid title or not? Does the ownership say FIT or SAL? If it says SAL you cant register it on the road. If it says FIT then insurance didnt write off the bike.

Ninja 300 Headlight bulb change (which to choose)

"brightness" (lumens) has nothing to do with the color temperature. That guy from the reviews has direct experience with both bulbs you want and he says the white bulb is yellow. If you want the whitest bulb of the two, then the crystal one seems like the way to go.

Any older riders get better quotes than Wawanesa for super sports?

I dunno where you guys are getting these quotes, i ended up picking up an fz6r and even the quotes on that were all between 1100-1800 a year... I called every company, intact, wawanesa, all state, dalton timmis, state farm, TD, riders plus, and the cheapest I could get was through echelon at...

    Stolen Red Ducati 1199 Panigale

wow did they cut his chains or what? Or did he just have the bike chained to itself and they carried it away, chains and all?

Any older riders get better quotes than Wawanesa for super sports?

No idea how you got 649 from wawanessa, my stats are the same as you, completely clean record, even running a quote with my car they were telling me 1700. Maybe the R6 is worse for insurance than a CBR? 650 a year seems really really low. I ended up not getting the R6 anyway, for the kind of...

    Having difficulty selling your bike?

This is 100% it. If your bike is taking too long to sell then it is priced too high. I will email or call someone who has 1 picture, 1 sentence about the bike, but is selling at a good price. Worst case scenario I lose some of my time to find out the bike needs 5k worth of work before it can get...

    Ontario cycle salvage

They sell on ebay now I'm pretty sure. They have (or had the last time I was there) pretty much every part for every bike ever made, so it only makes sense for them to start selling stuff online, there just arent enough people in toronto to ever need all those parts. I bought a set of carbs...

How dangerous is riding in the GTA?

Toronto is way worse than anywhere else. Even the notoriously bad LA traffic is better than the **** traffic we have. I still remember when my friend moved to california and was amazed that their "rush hour" didnt involve parking the car on the highway. He had never driven in a city outside...

Anyone in Sudbury willing to check a bike out for me? Also FZ6 vs Hornet?

Fuel injection is so much nicer than carbs honestly. Less maintenance, really reliable systems by the time they got them into bikes. I cant see buying another carbed bike after I've had a couple fuel injection bikes, I just dont have the time to do maintenance that carbed bikes expect anymore. I...
