Thanks, yeah it's a steel frame, and if the repairs aren't too costly I want to keep riding it. Seeing as I just bought the bike, and liked it, that's my first choice. Also since I don't bother with collision coverage, in a situation like this it's basically up to me, not Intact...
Only thing I...
It's my first time down, but in the past my close calls also involved locking up the rear. Last time was at least 4-5 yrs ago. On the last two bikes before the FZ, I had ABS...so maybe I lost some of my vigilance. Hitting the rear brake on a motorcycle is a really sh**ty idea.
Thanks, ok - how about we put that on hold for a few days until I find out what's what. Interested in that bracket....again depending if my frame is still usable.
Yeah for sure - I went to the local ER immediately and had x-rays and cat scans, they came back ok. Saw my doc last Monday as well, and I'm starting physio tomorrow. So far Intact is supporting me ok, they'll cover the medical bills and said they'd pay for new gear as well as my bus ticket home...
Thanks Jon, I'll let you know. Yeah, it's f*cked up. I low-sided but the bike ended up on it's right, as though it high-sided. All a blur and I did have a mild concussion. But if that's what happened (bike flipped) it might explain why the top of the frame got dinged worse than the frame slider...
Well, there you have it. I bought the sweet 2005 FZ1 from ResidentEvil, that was listed here a month ago, and crashed it on the 21st down in NY State...about 660 kms from home. Panic stop to avoid the rider in front of me - low speeds but I locked the rear up and lost control, I was on the...
$100 for the seat, it's in perfect shape off a low mileage '05. I upgraded to a Corbin and no longer need this.
Also selling a Delkevic slip-on for the same bike.
This is the 8-inch 'mini' slip-on for the first-gen FZ1 (2001-05). I don't know if it will fit on gen.2 bikes or not. I'd guess it saves about 15 lbs in weight (that's equal to 2 bhp)...not sure about any other performance claims. Nice sound though.
In great shape as you can see. Boot sleeve...
