That's fine IF he's the original owner. There could still be liens from owners before him. Bottom line, when there is money concerned, don't trust anybody!!!
I just purchase liability. To go for full coverage meant I would have essentially paid for a new bike every three years. My VTX 1800 still only costs about $850 a year. If I wrap it around a pole, it's my tough cookies, but I've saved a TON of dough the past 12 years...
I am a piano technician (hence pianodude). I started taking my bike on service calls years ago. I love pulling up to an old ladie's house dressed in my Joe Rocket gear with helmet in one hand with my tuning tools in the other. Most older folks still think the tuner will show up in dress pants...
661 kms from Hamilton to Nobel (just north of Parry Sound) and back. I realize this won't break any records, but for a guy in his sixth decade on the planet, I thought it was pretty good. Didn't get any serious monkey butt till passing through Oakville on the way home (not bad for a stock seat)...
Haven't been on this stretch for about seven years. Speeds ranged from "0" to 140 (to keep up with traffic). At no time was I scared, but I was on edge the whole time. I don't think I saw more than 15 bikes there and back. Is there a better alternative to get through the Top of Toronto other...
Personal discomfort aside, is 35c+ really bad for the bike itself? A fellow blew a rad hose right beside me a few days ago in the heat. I don't want to do any long term damage as the oil must be really thin in these temps....
I put almost 60,000 kms on my much beloved Nighthawk 750 from 2002-2007. It got sooo uncomfortable that I couldn't ride it for more than 30 minutes without extreme pain. I just took delivery a month ago of a 2002 Honda VTX 1800. I am averaging 1000kms a week with my longest ride of 6 hours...
Been really enjoying my Honda VTX 1800 after not riding for five years (2400kms in the past two weeks). I have a few weeks of holidays coming up and would like to do a nice three day road trip. My real concern is keeping my bike safe while sleeping. Are there hotels that have impounds? What else...
That's exactly the trouble with with today's society: your attitude.... Screw everybody else, I'll do what I want regardless if it breaks any laws or scares the crap out of cagers who can then be VERY unpredictable in their response. Glad you have a mind of your own (really!), but there are...
Wow! First time checking the thread in a week and can't believe some of the comments. I wasn't really sure if naming the dealers could somehow get me into trouble was my original reason for not doing so. For those who genuinely wanted to know, the first dealer who never responded to emails was...
As I mentioned, I spoke to two salespersons and their body language and attitude left me with no doubt that I was bothering them. IMHO a person in the showroom should take precident over emails. All I needed was a smile and "I'll be with you in a minute" and they would have sold a bike. Not too...
Don't want to name the dealers, but I called the sales manager yesterday and left a message about what transpired. Haven't heard anything and don't really expect to. I'll take my money elsewhere. I really just posted this because I couldn't believe the lack of enthusiasm for paying customers..
I am finally in the market for a bike after a prolonged absence. Emailed one dealer in the GTA about a bike and four days later there was still no response (never did get one). I spent thirty minutes at another dealer yesterday. There were at least five salesmen sitting at their computers and...
