    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Glad your head didn't take a big hit. You should also be able to get insurance replacement for scuffed or ripped gear, not just the helmet. Check everything before you sign off.

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Ouch! I did my collarbone 3 years ago in a freak snowstorm right around this time. The alignment was offset more than the width of the bone. Emergency sent me home in a sling. I booked myself into the fracture clinic, and as soon as they saw it, they had me in surgery the next day. I have a...

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

If its such a nice day for riding, why aren't you guys out riding, instead of standing around in a parking lot. I rode in to work this morning, and will ride home later when I'm done, just like I did yesterday. If I could have taken the day off, I guarantee you that I would not have spent it...

Should I convert my Ninja 300 into a track bike?????

What's your track budget for the year? Track fees, race fees, tires, are you running with warmers? OP should have an idea of the cost he's getting into if he's gonna ride track. OP do you have a trailer and vehicle that can hall your bike to track?

    2018 Honda Goldwing

Agreed, but its not aimed at me. This is riding! Do they really need to be this big? I'll be looking for a 2-up 3-bag touring bike next year, but for that money, I'd rather get a Versys 1000 and have enough left over for a YZ250FX. But I am curious about the new H2 tourer and the rumoured...

I saw myself too. And a red CBR on a U-haul trailer stopped in front of my office to tighten the straps, but that doesn't really count.

Should I buy a bike now or next season?

^^This ^^ I can't recall for sure, but I think prices and demand for used 250s dropped when the Ninja 300 came out. No reason not to expect the same to happen to 300s with the new 400, especially if reviews are good. Also a good bargaining position. "I really want a new 400, but I'll take...

    Parking tickets

Was your tire chalked. Even if you obey the rest of the rules (rush hour, fire hydrant, etc), if there's a time limit and you're there all day, technically you could be ticketed. The reality is that this almost never happens as Green Hornets don't want to bother, but if you get some di** who's...

What do we think of the new Z900RS?

Ok, I'll be odd man out here. Old bike styling doesn't do anything for me. As far as new naked bikes go, I prefer this: http://canadamotoguide.com/2017/10/25/cafe-racer-2049-the-honda-neo-sports-cafe-concept-debuts/

    Loud pipes? Grow up!

PP, people wouldn't have to pass trucks on the right if they didn't sit in the centre lane. Yeah, I know its easier than moving over when someone merges onto the highway, but for the truck driver's convenience, now everyone has to find their way around where ever they can. So if you're not...

Harley-Davidson Profit Falls As Slide in Motorcycle Sales Continues

But since most other manufacturers have a much broader representation of bike types (SS, sport, sport touring, adventure, dirt, dual sport, naked, etc), wouldn't you have to agree that they are in a better position to ride out industry fluctuations. Call it the balanced portfolio approach. Not...

Harley-Davidson Profit Falls As Slide in Motorcycle Sales Continues

The thread is about slowing Harley sales. If you want to expand your sales, you don't preach to the choir, especially if the choir is aging, dying off or otherwise leaving the church. So Harley needs to expand their market. The problem is that they've defined their market so specifically that...

    Loud pipes? Grow up!

PP, I would think a loud horn, used if the truck starts to move into your lane because the driver doesn't see you in one of his many blind spots, would be far more effective than loud pipes. Also, any rider who is situationally aware, would not sit beside a truck if they can help it.

Harley-Davidson Profit Falls As Slide in Motorcycle Sales Continues

This ^^! I don't like the cruiser riding position. I don't find it comfortable sitting on my tailbone without my legs able to help absorb a bump (and yes I have tried several cruisers), and I don't find it conducive to an active riding style where you use your whole body. Ground clearance...

Harley-Davidson Profit Falls As Slide in Motorcycle Sales Continues

From my experience, speed limits in Europe tend to be much closer to the 85th percentile (a transportation planning standard, the speed at which up to 85% of traffic is comfortable traveling on that particular road - only 15% would want to travel faster), than here, so the question of legal...
