    Newb Passenger looking for Ride-alongs

It would be a pleasure but I have only ever rode solo so I have no experience. My girlfriends in the past were never interested. If you want to slowly ride around an empty parking lot on a Sunday morning, I am your cruising partner...I will dig out my second seat. But that is not worth a...

Stopping at a light without downshifting

Good point, especially considering a bike can get off the like much faster than a car. I usually go into the intersection with the car beside me, so I am not exposed, then take off a bit so I can ride above the traffic a bit. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk

    Thursday meet and greet.

I always cringe when I see burnouts. If you are not a sponsored racer and get your tires for free why would you make them last shorter than they would under normal use? Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk

    Newb Passenger looking for Ride-alongs

I think it is awesome, I must confess, I have never had a girlfriend who was actually interested in even going close to my bike. (Sniff, Sniff) sorry, I am all broken up aboit, does anyone have a tissue? I look at it as kind of a status thing to have a pretty young woman on the back of your...

    Newb Passenger looking for Ride-alongs

Actually this thread is similar to taking your girlfriend to a musical theatre As unsatisfying as could be possible.

    Thursday meet and greet.

I am going tomorrow, my first one. I think it would be elegant if they did burn outs, on a platter of those lovely sandwiches. But that is just me.

Tips when buying a older used motorcycle

I have seen some claimed low mileage bikes in the used market and when I went to see them, they were just basket cases. Look for wear, the ignition key area when people use fobs, or key chains on their keys, will show wear marks. Brake pads, a really good indicator of how much the bike has...

Stopping at a light without downshifting

This is why we ride motorcycles, to shift them up, then down, then up again....and then down. As we do this we strive to do it without changing the balance of the bike, to be smooth, as Jorge Lorenzo says...like buttering bread with a knife. It is a joy to figure out how you need to ride to...

    Questionable bike safety

Who is riding the bike on the highway? Is it the previous owner? Is it the mechanic who did the safety? It is the wrong attitude to think because you paid 100 for a safety that all of a sudden the bike is safe to ride. We put so much trust into the system and what other people say, or what...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

OMG...so similar! It amazes me how frequently this happens. Although I did not kick the car, the potential of what I did was actually worse. I was going to head butt the guy with my helmet on. It is easy to say, do this and don't do that, should have could have... This is what keeps you up at...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

I know, I know!!!! I was in the right hand side of the lane, to block traffic from the fast moving lane, (yonge st north) from moving in on me, (the lane everyone wants to be in) The car behind me had front end damage on the very edge of the passenger side. !!!!!

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

I was once considering the idea of a rear camera. I am a big MotoGP fan and I just like where they mount them on the bikes. It may provide extra information, and would be good especially when stopped already, or if the light turns yellow and you are wondering if you stop, what about whatever...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

I basically landed in a push ups position. If my head hit the road, if I tumbled, if I slided a greater distance, had the wind knocked out of me, maybe I would have stayed on the road for a while...even until the ambulance arrived. The biggest danger in this particular scenario was, I was...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

I don't want anything other than getting my bike back to the way it was. My insurance company has determined I was not at fault there is 0 deductible for me, and my rates will not go up as a result of this accident. I was not going to lay there in the middle of the yonge street north bound...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

Wow, what a lot of replies, quite overwhelming! You guys are all great. I really did not think of calling 911, I was too busy trying to ensure I had all the other guys information and that it was correct. I had a witness, who came to me right away, and got me off the idea of physically...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

I will find out at the collision reporting center what I can do, if anything. Not really injured, I feel fine. I keep track o my blood pressure, and it is 107/69...the lowest it has been all week...go figure. I am almost 50 and 250 lbs....i keep thinking I should hurt way more than I do...very...

laying here at 3am, cant sleep...could have been killed

Westbound Gardiner, yonge St south ramp. Bumper to bumper traffic, I was rear ended. If I had stayed in the right lane, yonge north exit and went right to the front of the traffic and budded in at lakeshore, my wrist and shoulder wouldn't be stiff...and my back wouldn't feel like I have been...

Who is successful selling their used bikes this spring?

I sold a GS500 in the winter. That thing about don't list until the weather is nice is not necessarily true. People are thinking about it, even more when there is snow on the ground. I got my asking price. Takes some time, just list it and forget it. You will always get a few stupid...
