True.
For me, its more so the thrill of the hunt. Fixing something I got for less than market value, and riding the wheels off it.
I ride alot of friends bikes. Street and dirt. What I currently have is no slouch. A new bike won't make me any faster; but that doesn't stop me from wasting lots...
Sometimes I feel like I have a "searching for the next best thing", or a "good deal" disease...
How many others have this issue.
Why am I like this?
I'm constantly browsing marketplace, or kijiji for bikes. I'm currently happy with my bikes, but always searching for the next best thing.
I've...
Rode a childhood friends mini bike in a pit when we were 10. Always wanted bikes, but parents were against it.
Bought a friends old 1985 yamaha fj600 for $1200 when I was 19. The bike had 13 owners by the time I got it.
24 years, and 17 bikes later.
I enjoyed most of those 17 bikes. There...
I'm inserting mine on Tapatalk, one at a time.
I've got a tire change to do on my wr250x, and pull the battery. Oil was changed weeks ago. It had a good clean-up. I'll still take it out around town, weather permitting.
A small displacement dual sport really extends the riding season. I...
It might be parked...
I got it last January. Only put 32 hours or so on it this summer.
Slowly making improvements to my riding, and to the bike.
Shinko 525 cheater gummy tires helped. Tubliss rear.
Not keen on the Rekluse clutch, but Im getting used to it. Would prefer stock.

Missing Fortnine order came in (Purolator shipping issues).
Graphics kit is on.
New chain and sprockets is on. (2+ on the rear)
Packed the wheel bearings.
Cleaned as much as I could when the wheel was off.
Shes looking fresh.

Graphics kit didn't come yet. Fortnine is using Purolator to ship during the CP strike. They split my order into 3...
Apparently the purolator drivers don't know how to find my house... after multiple tries.
Oh well, it looks good black. Not like I'm riding it anytime soon.

Man... spotless!
New plastics are ordered, and a cheap graphics kit.
I might take the exhaust off; a friend is going to help me heat it and pop the dents out under pressure.
Head bearings got greased up a week ago. Linkage and swingarm bearings need to be cleaned and repacked.

Oil, stabilizer, batteries pulled in all but my wr250x and the husky300.
Good chance a group of us are going to Virginia next week. Hatfield & McCoy's trails.
Did the Creemore loop a week ago Saturday. Sloppy, cold, but fun.
Dual sports really extend the riding season.

I'd say, just ride it. Skid plates are supposed to take a beating, and scratches add character.
My 300 is held together with zip-ties.
Pristine plastics tucked away in my closet, if and when it gets sold.
Does a dirtbike ever really get winterized?

Even if its a clean ownership, trying to hunt down a previous owner is a load of b.s.
Who am I kidding. Someone will buy it, and ride it dirty...

Perhaps not overpriced, until you read the description...
What in the Brampton is this b.s.

Saw that. 53,000 km seems high, but 42,000 km is the first scheduled valve check on a wr250r.
If it was commuting km, then its better than low speed dual sport duty. Linkage, head, and swingarm bearings would need to be greased. Mine were all replaced long before that; but I treat mine like a...
Best bike for you is the one you already own. Its paid for!
The grass isn't always greener.
Eg. -A v-strom 650 is a boring utility tool. It works for some, but its not generally the bike you turn around to see one more time as you walk out of the garage. I think you'd get bored of that, as...
Honestly... there's no perfect bike.
Are you happy with the power?
Seating position?
Weight?
Comfort?
Wind protection? Or lack there-of.
I'd put a rack on the back, with a rotopax mount; incase you get range induced paranoia.
Make it your own. Its always a compromise.
Since you're not on the...
