    You don't need to file a report if the total damage amount (for both vehicles combined) is below $2000. Should you let your insurance know...technically yes but most people don't because of fear of an increase.

    Like others have posted, just go to a bike shop and pick up a can of chain lube. Which one doesn't really matter, everyone swears by whatever brand they use and you will too eventually. Also, since it sounds like you never cleaned the chain all season I'd suggest giving it a real good clean...
