Fault when "laying down" bike in the GTA?

If the vehicle turning left in front of you did so in a manner which they could not complete the turn in safety i.e. you were coming the opposite direction and they likely didn't see you, they created an emergency situation and would be deemed at fault. This scenario would best be supported by...

Anyone have experience filing a property loss claim through tenants insurance?

Not worth claiming. You might lose a claims free discount, if you ever have another claim they may cancel you for claims frequency. Suck it up.

    Claiming motorcycle gear

If you're at fault it will be covered under the Accident Benefits portion of your policy. If you're not at fault it will be covered under section 6 Direct Compensation Property Damage (assuming your accident fits the DCPD criteria). If it's a collision with an uninsured motorist and you're not...

    DUI Charge and Bike Insurance?

Impaired and over 80 are criminal charges. It doesn't matter whether you were driving on a highway or not. Same goes for snowmobiles or boats.

Need help just got into accident..

Be glad the tow truck only charged you $340 for the tow. Tow bills of $1000 or even more aren't unheard of.

    15% across-the-board insurance reduction?

Nobody has touched on the "staged accident" problem yet, but yu can thrown that into the mix. For the guy here who wants a job in SIU, try and figure out who's advocating getting a US address to get a US policy, then figure out who all the people are that are doing this and then notify their...

insurance repercussions if father in law gets in an accident?

And if your father in law wipes out 10 people in a bus shelter and they sue you for $10 Million your wife's liability policy will pay out her limits (probably $1 Million) and yuor wife will be on the hook for the other $9 Million. Should make for some fun dinner time conversation. Bottom...

    Insurance claim check question

They will only pay the full cost of repairs, if the vehicle is in fact being repaired. Hence the reason they want to make the cheque payable to the body shop, although more commonly to your Dad and the body shop. If your Dad wants payment to him directly they can't control if the car is being...

    Brampton to blame

If houses in Brampton burn down at twice the national average, would you want to insure houses in Brampton for the same premium as everywhere else? Well, car accidents happen at a higher than average rate in Brampton. See the analogy. And the other thing is when car accidents happen in...

There's a new angle, insure your bike under someone elses name. This has been discussed so much in the past. Yawn.

Dealing with State Farm after car was hit in a parking lot

Why assume the worst. Insurers will pay you more for your car than you could sell it for on the open market.

    Primmum renewal just in:

I guess you were getting a really good deal last year. BTW, premium $ / cc is no measure of how premium is calculated. If it were a guy with a Gixxer 1000 would be paying the same as some guy with a 50 hp 1000cc cruiser.

    Car hit deer

No coverage here because you don't have comprehensive coverage. Interesting here as well how people are recommending auto wreckers for parts......but heaven forbid the insurance company put used parts on a car and people would go ballistic.

Time to revisit no fault insurance

You're confusing that with the OPCF 43R endorsement. All that does is pay for OEM parts and will pay the original replacement cost if the car is a total. I has nothing to do with paying depreciated value in cases where the vehicle is repaired, that's somethig totally different.

Time to revisit no fault insurance

That was kind of a useless article. It offered no real solutions or alternatives. Going back to a tort based system will create all kinds of administrative nightmares which will require more staff for the insurers, which translates into higher expenses for the insurers = higher premiums for...

Car accident.. shop didn't fix the car properly

That's helpful information and factually stated. Thanks Zeniceguy. And dare I say it not the insurance companies fault who likely included an alignment as part of the repairs for this vehicle. (And I can 99.99% guarantee an alignment was part of the repair estimate the insurer paid for this car).

    Act of God

Also, I bet if something happens to your car on a closed road, this also could be an out for the insurance company. Not true, there is no exclusion in the policy for driving while off road, or on a closed road (save for some situations like a race track, but even that's become a blurry line...
