    Any Movement on Price

Could the uptick in new RV sales be related to the tariff situation? Existing inventory isn't affected by the tariffs, just new product coming through the border. Could be everyone's buying stock before prices increase. Our local Harley dealership just bought a few months of inventory all in...

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

Yeah, I've heard that happens a lot on GTAM group rides... "Is this my V-Strom?" "No, you're on my bike..." "Are you sure? I think this one's @oioioi 's" "Oops, you are right, my bad, my one's over there."

MotoGP 2025 Discussion Thread *Warning: Spoilers allowed*

Yeah, and Bagnaia looking psychologically defeated. Has looked this way since the first race. In other, non-Ducati-related news, that Honda that Zarco was piloting looks promising. Can it last race distance tomorrow is the question. Are KTM's troubles on-track related to its troubles...

Common new rider mistake (mainly by students on the M1X course) Puts gloves on first. Grabs helmet, places it on head, tries to do up strap... ruh roh..

Your First Motorcycle Was a ............?

Any group or forum is going to be defined mainly by the people that participate in it, not by the medium or platform it's on. One web forum I used to frequent turned into a political-crapfest, no moderation whatsoever, so politics quickly over-ran the board. A vibrant community of over 1000...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

You guys are having a lot warmer weather than we are here. 3 degrees this morning. 🥶 I really need to install those heated grips... Even with winter gloves on, had to stop and do the armpit thaw.

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

I snapped the clutch cable on an old Royal Enfield Bullet in India. Had to stall the bike to stop, of course. And to get going again, had to start the bike in neutral, and then tap it into gear while pushing the bike forward without stalling it. Took a few tries to get it right. Hilarious for...

Yeah this is a mistake I make over and over again, especially on a new and unfamiliar bike: Guess which camp I fall into... Motorcycle mistake I've only made once Leaving anything on the pillion seat or on top of the panniers/topcase, and then riding away - the aforementioned items...

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

So common. How many times have I seen on the Internet: "Help! Bike won't start!" "It's your battery, dude." "I'm pretty sure it's not, I charged it up, tested it with a voltmeter, 12.8V... It's not the battery! I'm gonna replace the <<stator/regulator/fuses/flux capacitor>> and get back to you...

Also to add: when working on the bike with the centerstand, ratchet-strap or ziptie the centerstand in the deployed position to prevent it from rolling off if you're wrenching hard on it. If you're extra-paranoid, ziptie the front brake as well. DAMHIK Again, one of those "once and only once"...

You're a better rider than I am. I can't take my gloves off and put them back on when I'm riding. I crash into trees and ride off into ditches quite regularly even with both hands on the grips...

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

I feel like these lessons can't be told or taught to new riders. You need to actually experience, firsthand, the gut-wrenching emotional and financial pain of dropping your beloved ride because of your own newbness, so that the ensuing PTSD becomes the greatest teacher ever.

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

Wow, that's some serious range. Like PP, my fob needs to be in a specific range and area (behind the dash, not in front of the headlights) to start the bike at all. Seems like the extended HD fob range is very prone to remote hijacking - all someone needs to do is break into your garage and...

You can get cheap customized covers for the fobs in different colours to tell them apart. These are ones for the BMW motorcycle fobs. We had identical fobs for my R1250GS and my wife's R1250RS. Did I buy those coloured-coded covers for the fobs? Nope. Did I mistake the fobs and sometimes...

    GPS vs Phone

Yeah, all my off-road buddies use it, it really is well thought out for Adventure riding. Good, robust power interfaces too that will stand up to weather, vibration and abuse. My only issue right now is that DMD2 only offers two sizes for their official devices: 6" smartphone or 8" tablet. They...

    GPS vs Phone

You're not wrong, and I welcome this move as well. Rented a current-model BMW R1250RT last winter and the BMW Connected App allowed you to throw up the GPS from your phone onto the motorcycle's TFT screen. Brilliant! One thing I can't stand about both the phone or dedicated GPS is that extra...

The Zumo XT2 is the latest and greatest from Garmin, but you can still find places selling the older (by about 18-24 months) Zumo XT, which has a smaller screen and is a bit less feature-laden. Differences here...
