When the first signal snapped off, I borrowed one of the front signals for the rear. After some noob wiring, i caused a short and the relay burnt out. Now I'm down to 1 led signal and a bunch of yellow led strips. I think I need a resistor.

My signals are all after market leds. So, I need to have all the same signals otherwise it won't work?

Let me clarify, when the turn signal switch is on, the signals are solid regardless of whether or not the relay is in place. When the signal is cancelled the light is off. Does that change anything or do I have to rewire the signals to diagnose the problem?

No, the signals stay on without a relay in place. Just replaced the relays, all the 3 new ones i've tried stay solid. I also rode with out one of my signals for a long time. If it makes a difference the front to signals are yellow led strips.

I wired up all for signals. The signals still aren't flashing. I checked the manual and I performed the test on the relay, both passed the continuity test. I believe the problem lies within the wiring harness. How do I check that? If the wires were burnt wouldn't the leds turn not turn on.

I was thinking the same. Wr is considerably more maintenance. (Look at the oil capacity), and to convert it is going to cost you maybe 2k more. If not the drz i'd get a xr650r that has already been converted. (none on kijiji are priced reasonable atm.)
