worried about rear tire - opinions please

I think it is more than a little ironic that you refer to someone with the skills to re and re your rear rim (at the convenience of your own home no less) as a "jackass", yet you are actually posting this thread as a question about a tire that is thinner than you have any idea about. If you got...

Thanks also, crankcall, for weighing in.

    Condo Garage Cleaning....

^ Very informative post. Sounds fair on all counts. Much appreciated. Your 150k investment turned out VERY well...especially considering you also were able to live there as you doubled up. Just icing on the cake.. Some of the perks you mentioned though, I'm sure are envied by quite a few others...

How I got a stupid cager to stop following too closely

There is a lot to be said for a sharpened scratch awl held out just so, for anyone who manages to squeeze past your blocking position. Even if THEY get by, the idiot following them too close all of a sudden sees you and then maybe hits you, knocking you into oncoming. I take ******** who blow...

British Superbike Championship -- This is racing!!!

Thanks for posting...some incredible racing in only a couple minutes..very edge of seat to be sure. Was very clean too, pretty classy guys. I really love the British announcers. They get so frig excited. The one guy almost loses his voice in the 2nd one..lol

    Grand Prix Cycle Innisfil

You make some reasonable points, however, your 'repeatedly' sounded worse than it was though..he bumped it twice in same day and once more a week later. Every beef has to start somewhere and some time. I think that 9 days is a little early to deem this as a one-off just yet. But also, making...

    Grand Prix Cycle Innisfil

Yes you did. But I still think that in order for word to get out, and out that common theme, it requires being posted. I can give you an example..how many times to do you hear of people having issues with SON? Now..for contrast, how many do you hear of any issues at Powersports? The point I am...

    Condo Garage Cleaning....

With all the many many known negatives to owning and living in a condo, it sure does beg the question..what are the perks? Do any exist, and if so what are they? I'd be interested to see the list. I have a feeling the appeal is directed primarily to someone who travels a lot and is rarely home...

    Grand Prix Cycle Innisfil

I agree. If we go by your statement, then there would NEVER be a victim when someone does rip off another person. According to your statement, there are no thieves in existence. But if a common theme surfaces, because of the OP's heads-up then it is easier to recognize it. If you had an...

The REAL cost of owning a motorcycle…

"Five years from now, Ducs will no longer be in fashion" You're not serious I hope when you typed that? Aesthetics aside even for those that don't appreciate Ducati's unique frame styling (no one else does a truss frame worthy of mention in my opinion) there isn't another sporting big twin that...

The REAL cost of owning a motorcycle…

Since it is an R6 we are talking about, and it having a very high revving engine, plug life could be shortened a bit over other lower rpm engines. My 40-50k remark, perhaps could read more like 25-30k.

would you buy a new bike from suzuki of newmarket?

High sales numbers, at what first appears to be a more competitive price, is not always conducive to a good dealership experience for the buyer. For many, this applies to SON.

    Motorcycle Magazine Recommendations

I am quite confident that Cycle Canada was among the choices, and your not remembering that one by name is almost blasphemes. With that said though, its best days, IMO, were when Bruce Reeve was at the helm, and then later, Costa did an admirable job after all the switch-ups that ensued...

The REAL cost of owning a motorcycle…

Among a few other really needless expenses..this one was a real rip..just trying to save you 50 mounties after the next 11k km.. Hope you kept the old plugs..keep them dry and install about 40 or 50k from now.

    Bought a 2004 cbr600rr and got PLAYED

It's a damn shame, that, on a forum where apparently we share 2 wheeled enthusiasm and an assumed level of camaraderie, some people are so quick to boot a fellow rider when they're down. Consider yourself added to my list of ignores. :roll eyes: 4077 posts of flotsam..

Buddy got 10 km/h over limit, what are his options?

What brings this info up, driver's license number or plate number? I guess even if they follow you and enter a plate, it will pull up the corresponding dr lic number with whatever record. I have been issued a warning (so they said) for speeding, but it was a case of mistaken-identity. Bunch of...

    The new ZX14R is revealed

In those pics you can clearly see an ABS synchro ring on the front wheel hub. The side venting/louvres have more to do with high-speed aerodynamics and assisted cooling than any aesthetic value. In North America, these types of street bikes make so little sense in these days. Their true...

    WTF, Aprilia?

Please....an automatic is a true motorcycle in all senses of the word???? NBL Motorcycles corner best under power, and at the minimum, a direct connection of rpm to wheel rotation..free-wheeling of any sort, need not apply. However..the rest of your post has considerably more credibility...

    2011 cbr125 + highway 401 = a surprise

120 mpg sounds overly optimistic in real world use. A 250 Ninja flogged at 75+% gets considerably poorer mileage than certain other bikes running behind them (same speeds) with 5+ times the displacement.

    2011 cbr125 + highway 401 = a surprise

Wind management and rider weight are among the most influential parameters of a very small displacement four stroke bike once you're above city speeds.
