    Common Model Problems Thread

I believe that generation of GSX-R also suffered from R/R issues.

Sport riding gear that doesn't make you look like a power ranger?

Love my Tech 1-R too. They've discontinued it, and I've thought of picking up another, since mine is a bit rashed up from a spill 2 years ago. I will say that I need to keep an eye on the carbs to ensure it continues to fit me.

    Brake Pad Recommendations

Another pad worth consideration (as something more "sporty" than stock) is the Vesrah RJL. A harder backing plate than OEM brake pads for more even pressure across the pad. More initial "bite" giving the brakes a more aggressive feel. Pad compound is resistant to fade related to heat buildup...

    Riding in Italy!

I've driven (cage) in Italy a number of times, mostly in the north, mostly in the Aosta Valley (sister-in-law lives there). Many of the mountain roads are drool-worthy, and envisioning a ride there on a sport bike often occupies my idle thoughts. As most have observed, the overall level of...

    Motorcycle Drive In

Yup. We used to go to the old North York drive-in quite a bit. Was saddened to hear it was closing, and didn't realize it had been saved. The "No outside food" policy is a bit of a bummer......although I do understand the motivation behind it. I recall having a full home-cooked BBQ steak dinner...

    Fuel milage on a gixxer

I have seen up to 300km on a tank with my '11 750....stock gears, M4 slip-on. Mind you, only when riding very sedately, shifting early, etc.

    Coolant Question

After another ride, my concerns are much ado about nothing. This ride consisted mostly of higher speed clean air country riding.....81-85C on average. When riding in traffic in town, I was seeing higher temps, but nothing to worry about. Stop and go, it runs up to 105C and the fan kicks in. Back...

    Coolant Question

First ride of the season on Sunday. Compared to previous hot weather riding (30C+), it is running warmer. Could still be air in there, despite my best efforts.

    Coolant Question

Not saying there is a 20C difference on average.....it's just the slow-speed riding is consistently higher. Although I did my best to eradicate air from the system, it was my first time doing a coolant change on this bike.

    Coolant Question

I recently changed the coolant in my 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 to Motul Motocool Factory Line pre-mix. I decided on this product over the Motocool Expert, thinking the Factory Line represents Motul's top-tier line of products. I did an extensive flush of my previous coolant using distilled water...

Any good routes? Toronto to Niagara Falls.

Regional Road 69 (20 Mile Road), running from just east of Smithville to Victoria Road, can be entertaining. A few hills and twists running through farmland.

Good shop to rebuild a gsxr750 motor?

I would think Z1 Cycletech has as much experience with those motors as any shop. Wouldn't have a clue as to cost.....call up Glen or Zaid for a chat.
