I was fortunate enough to be able to ride four of the last five days. Every day was a gift to close out the season and some of the most enjoyable riding to the north and east of me with traffic volume much reduced. 15,000 km this season.
I don't think that this is the case at all. He still has the will and determination to test the limits every time but I fear that one good off and landing in previously injured position is going to be career ending.
Riding as late in the year as I can with heated inner jacket, heated grips and heated seat (what luxury!). I have the benefit of mostly being able to pick my riding days and times and there'll be more of those as the golf season ends.
You guys are the king and queen of ride reports. Always an interesting narrative. I really appreciate you posting this and btw I'd gladly pay $100/day just for those views.
I love to watch Marc wrestle with, and continually test the limits of that beast of a bike that Honda has given him but it pains me to think that he's sacrificing his body the way he is. His drive and determination is undeniable but I have to believe his career will come to an end soon at a very...
Sidi Armada boots - modified by cobbler to add 1/2 inch to sole
Aerostich Roadcrafter pants - worn in all weather conditions, armour stays in the right place as they have completely taken my shape such that I almost expect them to walk away on their own one day
LD Comfort underwear

I don't know. The service I was referring to was earlier this year at the old location. I'm getting close to the next 10,000 km service since then so I guess I'll find out soon .
Lots of crazy stories and great memories about that bike. Saved up from various part time jobs and bought it in 1961 when I was 15 years old. At that time in Ontario there was no motorcycle licensing and you could legally ride at 15 years old. Rode it summers and most of some winters around Toronto.
From your description of the areas you like to ride, your need for some comfort and some weather protection I think you should consider a used BMW R1200/1250 RT at the newest level your budget will allow. Obviously, I'm biased but I have 60 years of riding experience and regularly ride from the...
No. Definitely does not occur while braking hard. In fact the exact opposite. The HSC seems to be very sensitive such that it engaged on gentle slopes with slow speed manoeuvres. The additional problem for a person of shorter stature is that I always look to a full stop where I can get a foot...
Congratulations to Neda on a beautiful bike for many more years of riding in style!
Gene you mentioned the hill start control feature. I don't know if you have it on the GS but on my RT I found that it would sometimes engage at the most unexpected or inopportune times. I've turned it off for...
I remember a similar or perhaps longer sign somewhere east of 41 perhaps on 509 around Plevna? I haven't been out there in a couple of years now and my memory is fading to say the least.
Be sure to visit Lake on the Mountain and see the lake sitting above you and Picton Bay far below.
The Glenora ferry runs frequently, about every half hour I think and it's free. Enjoy a leisurely ride to Napanee or even Kingston and back.
Highway riding with crosswinds and buffeting, in addition to the techniques already mentioned here, I try to keep my speed up as fast and as steady as I can get away with. I genuinely feel more stable. I'm sure some physicist could answer or maybe just my personal placebo?
On a hot day when your 1200GS ADV bike gets stuck, falls over on a sandy track at the bottom of a steep hill and as you're sitting on the ground trying to figure out how you're gonna get out of this mess, a pickup truck appears over the top of the hill.
