Last time I fought a ticket in NY state I made a weekend of it. I requested and got a Thursday night court date. Rode there Thursday, fought my ticket, lost and then proceeded to ride around the mountains for the next 3 days. Turned out to be a fun weekend.

My observations have been that if you get tagged by a non state trooper that the ticket never gets reported to Ontario. I've had a number of speeding tickets in New York state from town/local cops and none have been reported back here.

This is where training can take over. If you have practiced enough emergency maneuvers then your training can override your survival instinct. Imo, this is a situation where the driver is clearly at fault but the crash was completely avoidable by the rider.
