Have one since 2008. K&N, irridium plug and wire and down one tooth on the counter shaft. You will notice a difference. Sixth is useless till you change the sproket. Down on the tank sometimes and definitely a fun bike whenyou wring its neck. Nearly indestructable!
Strange as it may seem I have found a couple of foot pegs while out biking on the roads near me. Don't know what they fit but picked them up and threw them in the parts bucket....
Can't say off hand for the500f but the bike has no vibrations that I feel. Smooth like a babies bum. Lots of get up though through the gears without the high revs.
Way older than you by fifty years but just replaced my 250 ZZR with a CB500F. Insurance did not change! With TD. Iwould call around and put the two scenarios to them. Nothing ventured nothing gained. On line quotes will get you nowhere.
Mesh will do nothing for you. I rashed up my right leg from knee to just above my ankle. Pants failed on inside seam and thus created a bloody mess. Leather or nothing! Squid it and be a donor!
If back wheel is spinning it is either idle is too high or the electronic choke is not functionuing. Whether 2t or 4 t the wheel should stop when on center stand.

other than tires,oil and fluid changes have had no issues. Parts are cheap if you drop it.... The 250...

Never had an issue with TD call centres, just 3 prompts and on to a live mc savy person. I must say some of the fastest contacts yet,even quicker than going to my broker for other issues locally. You must be a real unlucky person!
