Grab a set of these, have been serving me well on my street bike for years.

the site also has spools for cheap. I thin the code GTAM10 will save you 10% too.
I just bought stands and spools for the gf's new R3...
It looks like the bumper I had in my kickstand on my Z1000 to let it rest in the right spot when folded up. I have a K8 gsxr750 but i don't seem to recall the same type of thing being required. I'll have a look when I get home and see if no one else chimes in.
Call Vinnie at Allstate, my GF was just in touch with him and if she brought her car over and got an R3 in the spring it'd be about 80 bucks a month. If you have your full M for 4 years or more you will get elite status and get a 30% discount. Her numbers are based out of London with an M1/M2...
Depending on who your agent is you may be able to talk to them and have them ad a note to your file that they will waive your cancellation fee and renew on or just after your birthday. I have heard of this instance before, but I'm sure it is a case by case scenario. I think I remember hearing...
As someone who has recently purchased a track bike, I have been keeping an eye on these grand bend track day threads as they pop up. I'm glad to see that these track days are well run and everyone is enjoying themselves. Being 40 mins or so from the track I will mirror the sentiment of the...
Maybe Santa or the winter bike show will bring me a safety wire pliers and spool to ad some piece of mind.
The bike has been down on both side, while it doesn't look terrible I'm not the least bit worried about a little safety wire rubbing anything :)
The bike was previously raced in SOAR so all the filler caps and bolts are drilled. Some have the safety wire on them still, others don't.
I plan on being a track day only guy for the first year or two. It is my understanding that a complete safety wiring of the bike is not required for just...
I would love to. Unfortunately I can't get tomorrow off of work. On the bright side I am doing the Racer5 endurance race this saturday and sunday at Grand Bend :)
Have been playing around with the bike in the garage. Almost all the greasing and regular maintenance stuff has been done. Yesterday I finally had the time to trailer it to my work parking lot so I could play on it a little. Was a fun 15 minutes or so trying it out. Had to get used to the GP...
Purchased an SV650 track bike and these slicks came with it. Tires have never been used and stored in doors entire life. Don't have a generator or warmers.
Front 120/60-17
Rear 160/60-17
Older date codes 2011....Looking for 100 bucks, price reflects age.
PM and I can provide pictures.
good to know about the Red Dawn track days, I don't think I'll have the bike ready for then. I am also based out of London so heading to grand bend is the easiest for me to start out with. I have a Racer 5 endurance race coming up on the 17 & 18th so that'll most likely be my last track fix...
thanks Dricked! I'll just grab some from the local shop and trim as needed. I hope to one day be slow enough to show at the same track day as you and watch. lol
I just noticed the comment about greasing those pivot points and such as well. I'll take that into account as well.
Do track days...
my throttle tube looks like this one. See the chamfered and notched end near the inside control. I understand just buying regular grips, but do I butt it up against this chamfer, the OEM grips actually have a matching groove and key hole type setup that "locks" it on...
I was suprised as anyone when I saw the weird throttle tube. I have replaced grips on all my other bikes over the year and it was a simple as cutting the old off and jamming the new on.
here is a link to a set i found on ebay, doesn't show the ridge on the ends of the grips but shows the exact...
So I have been playing with the bike a bit over the last few days.
I have taken all the fairings off and have checked out the inner workings of the machine. Cleaned up a little bit of the wire routing with some zip ties to keep things clean and not dangling. I have bleed the rear brake...
when you guys swap to water wetter from coolant in the spring and back in the fall what is your procedure? I know how to do the coolant and bleed air etc... I have only done coolant old to coolant new so a full flush wasn't required.
When you guys drain the coolant in spring do you run...
Unfortunately the garage isn't heated so I'll be swapping fluids. It does have water wetter in it now. Would be nice to eliminate that but a swap isn't much work and low cost.
All good JoeyB. Monday may have gotten me.
Boyo. I'm more of an all black guy got obvious reasons.
Once i I get the bike into tip top mechanical shape I can think of a colour change. Not top priority.
Cant wait. Unfortunately I don't think this will happen until next year. Can't wait to...
Excellent use of the partial quote mechanism. Yea I will degrease it because I'm anal retentive and like a nice clean ride. Then since I down loaded my service Manual this morning I will be going coolant for the winter, fresh fluids before it hits the track and anything else I see once I strip...
