I went out for a short little ride today to welcome 2020.
Here is my summary for riding my 2015 V-Strom DL1000 in 2019:
52,318 km / 32,598 miles. 16 States, 6 provinces. (Counting other years and Stroms I have ridden all the lower 48 except Florida and Louisiana and all 10 provinces.) Most...
The challenge with rubber gloves is your hand can sweat and the moisture has no where to go. Wet hands become cold hands.
Before I got heated gloves I tried two strategies when riding in cold temperatures) below freezing.).
I tried some glove liners with some success and also Aerostich...
I rode Sunday and Monday (days off) I didn't ride in to work today because of the possibility of snow streamers later in the day.
Do you ever do trials on snow?

@MacDoc: yeah Randy is pretty crazy! his bike is setup for riding on ice and snow and he purposely goes out in massive snow storms.
Just goes to show you no matter how crazy you think you are there is always someone even more crazy! :)

Nice ride in to work this morning! -7 when I left home. The roads were all brined overnight so look like they are icy but aren't.
Absolutely toasty warm with my heated gloves, Jacket and Socks (from "Warm n Safe") and my heated seat and handgrips. I could ride all day in this temperature (but...
I love riding in days like today when there are gusty winds! It always fascinates me how a big tall bike like a V-Strom can naturally stabilize itself when hit by hard gusts when moving at speeds. Just have to relax the grip on the handlebars and let it do its thing.

Rode a bit over 500 km today. Went west and ended up in Kincardine. Also crossed over 50,000 km for this year. Prob will beat last year's 50,200 km.

Let home for work this morning before 7:30 am. Was a nice balmy -5. Only a short 75 km ride to work though. Looking forward to heading home this eve and tomorrow looks like a nice enough day to go for a ride.
About 500 more km to hit 50,000 km for the year. (My bike has over 208,000 km on it.)...
Apart from the fact it is cold the temperature by itself is no real indication of whether or not there is ice. I have ridden on clear days below -10 with perfectly dry roads with no ice and seen lots of ice around freezing. If I don't see a lot of snow this eve I am likely to ride in to work...
Didn't ride today. About 4 or 5 inches of snow in my driveway on on my road plus 680 traffic mentioning cars spinning out.
We'll see about tomorrow but it looks like more snow this eve so prob not.
