Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Minus 19 C the high yesterday. To-day (afternoon) high was 2 degrees C.
Southern Ontario, 35 km west of Toronto. Still 2 to 3 feet of snow on lawns and
at roadside. Spring has NOT sprung yet!

Don't miss that one little bit - what I will miss is chasing spring in May in North America tho given what's going on that might have been a pass this year.

No real seasons here ...just Wet and Dry and no extended riding hours in June.

I’m flying into Sydney for a few days before I go to New Zealand on a cruise,

Hoping for good weather, but don’t know really what to expect?

Nailed my blueberry pancakes this morning. 🥞
Too fookin hot to ride
30.2c feels like 37.2 at 9.30 am :oops:Have not even got out on the fresh chain and sprockets
Figure when partner gets back from Pilates and shopping I'll crash with a mild sugar rush and sleep the heat away. I did get 7 hours last night tho much to my pleasant surprise.

4 am very nice temp now - was horrid last evening....soooo muggy
ugh
33.5°

FEELS LIKE

39.5°C 11 am

Glass looks very nice next to my workspace in the late morning sun.

Noraly in rural China with long history

Nother brutally hot night 1.30 am a/c struggling 🥵
28.4° FEELS LIKE
34.8°C

Sold my 5k iMac after a long slow struggle to get a fresh OS on it. Shower felt very good after that as was brutally hot and muggy on the deck. I'm so enamoured of the 14" Macbook Pro screen, power and speed that the 5k iMac just lost it's appeal plus ran out of OS runway.
Switched to the 27" 2k colour accurate Dell which the MPB ran happily along with the 55" even tho the Dell is now 13 years old!!!
Ran Apple mouse AND the trackpad at the same time.
No need for the cool LED wired mouse I bought but it is a nice little night light as it very slowly and gradually cycles through its multiple LED colours. $2.59 Aus delivered.....China rocks.

14" has so much Apple Silicon power yet never a hint of heat
Chip: Apple M1 Pro
Total Number of Cores: 10 (8 performance and 2 efficiency)
Memory: 32 GB
1 TB flash drive
1771516242490.png
...netted $150 on the iMac over cost so between the 2015 27" 5k iMac sale, the 2022 Macbook Air sale and a couple other odd items, just about no funds extra needed for the 2021 14" purchase.
By far the best Mac I've owned in 40 years.
Still have the 2018 13" MacBook Pro which is aging poorly ( keyboard  ) but will be fine for use on the motorcycle

........

Said I got an "only GREEN" badge tonight 🤷‍♂️

Waiting on hockey...lovely cooler night. :D

Apparently am not allowed to sleep past 6 ish. Was trying to watch the hockey - fell asleep and woke at 6 ish ….no idea who won so happened to click on the replay just as Canada tied it up and I still didn’t know who won

8 min later - perfect - Canada in the gold medal game and another struggle to stay awake….tonight. 🥱

Green galore ....weird

Cooler, light rain...sore foot for no good reason

Bingeing 2025 Robin Hood series not helping sleep amount 🥱

Mebbe ride on weekend. Sat looks very good
Tre Food delivery tomorrow 11.30

Interesting... :

Stupid title Marc
I remember Andora, crazy roads, cheap fuel, very cheap electronics and optical devices. Bought a spotting scope fo $450 worth $600+ elsewhere. One of the staff got good use of it....me not so much.
Was early on GPS and the phone got very confused as the roads were so tight to the mountains. Good memories.

Infra structure in China remains very impressive.

Tre's food to you | Cairns QLD
Delivered to my door. - even asparagus in the Beef Dianne and rest of veg perfectly al dente.

Thai chicken n cashew w veg n fried rice waiting for breakfast.
Not sure of best wait to heat
Got one small meal and one hearty meal out of the single dish. Nice to add some variety at low cost.
Watched the new season of Drive to Survive while gnoshiing.

Went to P J Obriens Pub last night to sample cheap eats with sweet friend. Fish n Chips not so great tho the steaks for $10 previously were an excellent feed for the price.
Enjoy one of our $15 Meals All Day Every Day Food Specials:
Angus Rump, fries, salad, house jus
Fish & Chips
Chicken Schnitzel, fries, salad
Chicken Curry, rice
House Salad, mixed greens, garden vegetables, tangy vinaigrette
They've moved from $10 to $15 now ...not as attractive given some of Hungry Jacks deals.

I'd get two meals from that and I do like their very artificial sundaes.

Having home made kangaroo burgers anytime I want for even less has taken the edge off my burger wants....and Ozempic keeps my appetite well controlled. Actually nudged 103 kg last week. ...that's almost 30 kg lighter 66lb down. :D

The Thai stri fry warmed up okay in the microwave... a bit too sweet which sez a lot as I like sweet. Was hearty tho, lotsa tender chicken - I'll get three small meals for $10.

Just gorgeous weather for The Wet. 25c at 8am and no wind. Low humidity. Very sunny, almost had to put long pants on earlier....the dog decided I was to get up a 7 am today...no she did not need to go out.
:fp:

Watching Yukon Gold.

Semi-bachelorhood is over, step kids returned from Africa and have to watch where I walk as puppy now grown much, but not entirely house broken returns.

Marc skiiing in Andorra and then a trouble free trip to the coast. Gibraltar and Africa coming up
Certainly his EV bike is capable of touring given Euro EV infrastructure. Things progress.
