Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Not missing riding today though feeling healthy enough to.
Good day to continue watching The Crown.
Also really enjoying watching our travel photos rolling by as I watch the big screen. Glad I did not sell the 2k 27" Dell as it has superb colour and is such nice trips through memory.
Realized I had not seen some episodes in Season 2

Gusts to 40kph. Tried to see some meteors last night - moon was very bright so that plus typical tropical muck in the atmosphere had no luck.
Woken by the fire alarm aka false alarm at 4am again. Lovely sunshine for a couple of hours now the showers are moving in so better for media watching.
Likely won't stay awake long as too little sleep but enjoying The Crown.
The Aberfan Episode is very well done and sad.

Don't like when I don't know the word. :(

Ugh ....partner accidently triggered the fire alarm remote button. Enough to wake me after way too short sleep.
Slept until 2 pm - rainy chilly day..read and watched The Crown and made some cinnamon raisin toast.

Noraly finally getting to the north and the hills. Mountains next time.
4 hours sleep so far but will nap.
........
Ended up napping until 2.30 pm so got 9 hours sleep - lucky the guy cancelled the meetup in Babinda tomorrow. Might not have gotten up in time. Weird sleep pattern.
Lovely weather ...high teens at night high 20s in day ....very crisp.
Very crisp starting early - 14 st 10 pm...all rugged up watching The Crown.

First ride in a while tomorrow.
Maybe ?

6.30 am Inclined for a ride but only 3.5 hrs of sleep last night .....again!!!
Too cold to get out early 12.9c and feels it on the deck.- mebbe can get 4-5 hours of sleep then ride for a 1 pm lunch.

Got out for a bit on the bike. Catheter was fine and scored 2 Whopper Jr for $6 ....won't need supper.
Not thrilled yet with the risers - think maybe I need to dump the up and back and stick with straight up - because it is not stock bars I'm limited in options but might bite the bullet and get the cable extensions.

Where she gets her patience I don't know - 12 hours...!!!
Should be okay for a modest ride today ...no sun, no rain and need to pick up a bunch of half price chunky soups. $2 lunches.

Will skip Hungry Jacks deal today I think but it's still $5 to lunch. Bowls tonight and will get their monstrous chicken parma for $19 - does me 3-4 days of morning protein. Will take a take away box if I remember and finally located my hearing aid batteries after they got tucked in behind the medicines.....don't ask:rolleyes:

Spent the day redoing the electronics corner. BBC Blue Planet II now my reference for 4k HDR

Partner meanwhile is redoing the kitchen contents

Easy peasy.... warm night ...listening to East of Eden

Reward for early to bed... :giggle:
...
Wasted day but got the back desk sorted better and marvelled at 4k/8k drone footage while part way through audio book not quite sure about.

17C but warmer in the bedroom...no covers needed for the moment. Allergies tonight and hungry at midnight. ...feeling a bit ordinary.

Nightmare about man eaters woke me up
Of course to innoculate myself I have a whole raft of big game stories to read.

Noraly in the mountains.
Got my first catheter change for the supra pubic...hurt a bit but no horrid and will be easier next time in 5 weeks, then will go to 6 weeks. He put on a gadget that takes some pressure off the catheter tube...useful.

Gorgeous day - sunny and fluffy white clouds - 27 and not humid. Yesterday was hotter and more humid 30,,,,today is very comfortable.
Good books to read. Confirmed appointment for new GP so that was good ...this Friday. Now what's for lunch.

Nice start to the day at midnight
.....
Got out for a short ride ....used the $50 Nolan helmet successfully. Learning to put it on and off easier.
$5 for a pair of pretty tasty and chunky chickenFried Chicken Tender Snack Wraps ... wraps plus a free seniors latte which so far tummy is tolerating. Been missing coffee.
Not sure about the new IEMs...I'm so spoiled with the Sennheisers but was hoping for more voice clarity while riding. Music is fine but audio books not so much. Might try the AirPod Pros again....just did and they are an improvement for Audible. - they were being annoying yesterday but apparently conflict with Sennhiesers.
Will try for a longer ride tomorrow.
Very little wind, moderate temps, mixed sun and cloud.

Did not wake at midnight for once

Happy with this :D
Will try a longer ride today.
Noraly happy in the clear mountain air and spectacular views in northern Pakistan. Some rough roads for her fun.
10 am off for a ride now
3pm long riding day tho did not go that far. Scored a bacon double cheese burger for $5
1756391386244.png
and a free senior latte for lunch.
Rode up to my fav r&r spot with good wifi and read and tinkered. Very brown and dried out tho.
Nice night out with friends the same age and I had my hearing aids in plus quiet outside so could actually chat properly ...brought 2/3 of my giant chicken schnitzel home for morning protein fix.
Of course I stayed up til midnight....

meet my new GP later today,

Bike running well - good run up the Gillies and this guy popped out on the road ...long enough to get a photo.

Best riding day in a while. Up at Mungalli Dairy.
Some value for money here
small latte and scones with real cream for $11
1756528843482.png
Was getting a bit weary on the way home - 240 km ride and very enjoyable. First 200 km stock seat then switched to the AirHawk the last 40.
Riding with the padded shorts and stock seat pretty comfy. Likely next time will switch to the AirHawk a little sooner.
Back was a tad stiff but mostly gone now. Was wearing kidney belt. No sense of the bars being wrong, Throttle lock worked enough to be useful.
5 snoozing hours later

Marc adventuring...wrong suspension tho.
Cool private jet helicopter.
Decent sleep 7 hours (y)
Gorgeous day out and not sore....maybe a short ride at noon.
Small steak for breakfast was good.. 🥩

3.30 am - brain rather dysfunctional ...would have got there but not in two

Noraly getting up there into the serious mountains.
These days the concept of "remote" is eroding as with all the satellite access contact is not far off.

Lovely day ...upper 20s, little wind. Not inclined to ride today. Made a decision on my impacted sinus operation to put it off for a year at least. Just not enough upside even tho it would only cost $500 out of pocket plus some anesthetic fees.
DIscussed with partner and just don't see enough upside.
Resuming the dental program tho. It is free so will move forward on it. It is prime riding weather here just now so at least 3 x a week or more and a couple being longer hikes will suit me well.
Little concerned about my left toe touching down on the ride up the Gillies. I'm riding very conservatively too.
No rain until the weekend.

2 am - brain functional at least. Restarted my dental repairs for a week from now. Only fillings....no more extractions. Steak thawing in fridge for brekkie 🥩

Tire change for Marc...not complicated but a tad tedious.

Made my restless sleep bearable

Got out for a short ride - was going to make pancakes but chased out of kitchen by spring cleaning partner. Rode up Hungry Jacks and got a feed from their Shake n Win deals.
Cheeseburger, small fries, 3 chicken nuggets, medium coke and drumstick mini which I like all for $6, Will ad the Coke to my water bottle which I keep Coke in anyways.
Forgot Ozempic yesterday so quite hungry ....worked out okay, Just had Welsh rarebit for brekkie ;)

Pleased with a birdie ...decent sleep helped.
Noraly very remote....
Likely ride out for cheap lunch at Jacks ...Bowls club tonight

Spring to summer ....31 today.

Little short ride out for lunch today but bike and body felt pretty good. Best in a while.

Bingeing Chicago Fire - wide awake at 1 am and seems my Ozempic AWOL. Hungry all the time and NOT looking forward to dentist tomorrow tho it''s nothing dire
...
Dentist was fine - just tedious and now sporting far too white buck teeth now.
Despite the hour...4.30 am - satisfied with this - was fun working it out.

Chicago Fire too soapy for now but enjoying the 24 Season Mayday - I'm a disaster hound anyways and a one time pilot so appeals. I'd hate to have to watch it with commercials but rolls along fine without. While I've seen some of the coverage with the amount of episodes there is always new or updated content...not a program for anyone with fear of flying.
Amazing what some survive and the forensic process figuring out what happened.

Going to 31 today so if I'm going for a ride needs to be early. Wind has died down

wow
Spectacular hardly covers it. 🎇

Summer here tho not oppressive ... 28 and humid was nice to ride up the Gillies leisurely - very little traffic. Pretty light lunch. Glad we are out to Bowls Club tonight.
Screen Shot 2025-09-11 at Sep, 11 2025 4.40.24 PM.jpg
Tired and achy for reasons unknown.....bitter that I missed ribs at Bowls - should have known they would run out and I was hungry.
A very tasty, meaty and heaping bowl of spaghetti Bolognese made up for it. Only had that one scone since morning.
Partner brought home steak and bacon ( there is no crispy bacon here ...only back bacon :( ) in some quantity from shopping so that's a treat....cut off a small piece of steak to try but botched the cooking....still enjoyed it as did the dog for the scraps.
Vegging in bed to Eric Anderson, Amazon Music gave me 3 months free of unlimited ....unexpected freebie.
Lovely clear balmy evening 19C - bright moon and low winds.
Great sunny day coming up ....hopefully get some energy back and the right drugs for aches. Cooler high of 27...perfect....could chase cassowaries and black cockatoos at Etty Bay if the wind stays down.

Went to bed early - was beat but got a few hours sleep and brain cells working. Watching more Air Disaster.
Rain is pretty heavy - watched a few more episodes and caught up on missing supper.

Screen Shot 2025-09-13 at Sep, 13 2025 4.42.35 AM.jpg
Gonna just write today off and hope for a ride tomorrow.
My guess is this low was the cause of my aches and pains on Thursday.
