Old man with a hose

Hello,

On the suggestion of another member, I was told to share this in case it happens again.

Was riding my bike in the Mount Pleasant and St. Claire area of Toronto. Wasn’t speeding, just minding my business and an elderly ******* on Heath st decided to spray me with a water house.

Had my nieces not been in the car behind me, I’m scared I would’ve had a physical altercation, so I kept going.

Has this happened to anybody?

No that seems weird. You could have reported it to the cops. Did you?

Did your neices witness it, and would they be willing to go to court with you if that's what it comes down to? I think without witnesses, it may be your word against his. Also, as far as I understand, only the police can charge him with assault, so if they don't then he gets off on the criminal charge. Your only other legal recourse is a lawsuit, but best to consult a lawyer.

Out of curiosity, is your exhaust stock? Not to defend the *******, but he may be triggered by loud exhausts.

Any exhaust modifications?

Sounds like he's PO'd at loud bikes and you suffered for this.

And /or ............he might be suffering from dementia and acted out because his filters are muted or gone.

He was doing you a favour; cooling you down.
Maybe it's the hopeful, positive outlook guy in me (who I thought was LONG gone) but I thought the same thing.

Maybe (hopefully) it was good natured kidding around, and he assumed you'd dry out really quickly. I guess it depends of the look on his face when he did it, and we can never know his intent.

Depends on whether he waved and with how many fingers.

See, something like this would freak me out...what if it wasn't water he sprayed me with, what if it was a chemical of some sort...a few years back, there was a case of a woman out for a walk who was doused with a corrosive chemical by none other than her aunt...this happened in Milton, my hometown and on a pathway I often walk/bike...so yeah, I would definitely be calling the cops, even if it did end up being a harmless prank.
