Michelle Duff

Passed away July 23 in Liverpool NS at the age of 85. Rest in peace.

I was at a group ride dinner in the Muskoka area about 10 years ago and Michelle Duff was there as an invited guest.

At one point I was talking to her about her racing experience in Europe in the 60's. I asked what her opinion was of Mike Hailwood and she stated that he was fantastic rider, a cut above everyone else.

I met Mike Duff when he was doing rebuilding work at his shop in Brampton, around `75 or so. A friend needed work on a Kawi triple, he was quite engaging and you just knew this was the place. Many years later I met Michelle at the Sportbike Rally in Parry Sound, around `96-`97, at the big Sat. night dinner. Later over coffee it became a kinda` Q&A about racing, still the same person. There was about 1000 riders there that weekend and I was thinking she could whip it on anyone of us, anywhere. Rest in Peace Mike/Michelle, you sure did it your way.
