I avoid riding on long weekends for the most part as many other do, though I went out for a coffee and sandwich in Warkworth on Sunday.
From my perspective the issues are that there's a lot of people driving around out here in the "far unlit unknown" on the weekend who don't drive much during...
I really liked the Street Rod too, and went in to (then) Mackie's in Oshawa to look at it when it came out.
It was sitting off to the side, but still fairly obvious. As I was looking at it a salesman came over and started a conversation, during which he referred to it as, "A Harley for the...
Hmmmm.....as a fan(ish) of some Heavy Metal, among other stuff/generes I disagree. When I hear a alphabetsoup glide wallowing past I don't think of Black Sabbath playing Paranoid or Mob Rules. Nor do I think of Iron Maiden and others. And now that I think of it I've never heard an HD go by...

I don't know if it's reasonably priced, a good deal, a complete rip off or too expensive, but I absolutely LOVE these bikes particularly...
I agree. Though I had a Harley for 6 months and determined it wasn't suitable for my preferred riding, I STILL like some of the models enough to consider them. Then the affordability issue you note comes up. Given the reasonable prices advertised for low mileage, relatively recent used ones out...
The trouble with the Bronx or a smaller Pan-Am is that it would have had to compete with other manufacturers models in terms of performance. The HD "character" would only drive sales so far, and they likely determined that it wouldn't be far enough to be profitable.
Perhaps the answer to the vehicle licensing question is make them part of the off road vehicle registration program, maybe better known as green plates. There's no renewals and I don't believe there's an insurance requirement for the registration, but it does represent some responsibility on the...
I've found the recent HD saga to be really interesting.
I'm neither pulling for them nor against them, but their failure would be bad to a lot of people so I hope a realistic plan can carry them profitably forward.
It illustrates the difficulty in finding "the sweet spot" for a company that...
having all your stuff with one agent does seem to save some money. Plus you seem to get better service.
I don't know how old you are, but that is expensive and I wouldn't be interested either. I'm not sure I'd buy that bike at $3500 either. Seems like a tough-to-sell model.
Yesterday in Cobourg I saw a teenager riding his electric dirt bike (talaria or whatever) the wrong way down the sidewalk, making people move out of the way. Then in Port Hope there was a guy with grey hair and glasses (no helmet) riding a skateboard/2-wheel stand up scooter down the middle of...
Not a stupid question. In BC it appears people ride trials bikes on pretty tough trails as opposed to just closed course use. You'd be hard pressed to find such technical trails in Ontario to justify a trials bike for general off road use.
At the same time, Beta offers the X-Trainer (and the...
To carry your point further, employing an enthusiast in some roles has downsides too.
When we had our nursery/garden centre we had plenty of people looking for work who were quite proud of being active members of various horticultural societies. The trouble was, they were less interested in...
