I have a contact in Japan that goes to the auction every week and can scope out specific bikes I am after. Once a nice one is found, took me 7 months to find my NSR, then I got a crate built there and had it shipped to me. Did all the customs stuff myself, documents translated etc. Get it...
I had considered getting a bike from Nuak, but after careful consideration and e-mails with him I decided against it.
He buys bikes from Japan auction with 2-3 out of 6 grading. I only wanted 4 or 5 grading and the prices he was quoting me for those was pretty high.

bikes from Japan are very likely to be oxidized unless they were stored indoors which most werent given land prices.
the auction houses have different grades based on the condition, I would suggest grade 4 or better.(graded to a highest level of 6-showroom condition)$$$$$
