    Stolen bike registry

You would have to be an absolute idiot to steal a bike on an open pickup truck, like that. Probably the vehicle and/or plates are stolen, even. Usually they operate with blacked out vans so you can't see what they have from hundreds of meters away.

I call it "Toronto", as it is written, enunciating the ts like a pro -- except when I'm crossing into the USA because I don't want trouble from the US border guards. Then I need to sound like the rest of the illiterate hicks that infest this city lest I be singled out as something else.

Also, while I'm at it, Canada, say the following words for me, please: "Kilogram", meaning 1000 grams of mass "Kiloliter", meaning 1000 liters of volume "Kiloparsec", meaning 1000 parsecs of distance "Kilohertz", meaning the count of 1000 of something per unit second of time "Kilojoule"...

"Eff Zee Arr" sounds perfect. "Zee Ecks 6,9,10,14,2389573479569,whatever" also sounds perfect. Perfectly perfect, as just perfection intended. "FAY-zer", after all, not "F'zd-er". All built with aluminIUM bodies, I believe. but I could be wrong about that.

I have lived in Canada for nearly 100% of my life. I spell things the "American" way, if you want to call it that, dropping unnecessary letters in "color", etc. The "k" in "knife" and "knowledge" both piss me off because they are logically stupid. I pronounce it "aluminium", because that's its...

He called it "alumium" first, then changed it to "aluminum", then settled on "aluminium" finally.

In defense of the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust, the entire civilized world calls it "aluminium" with the exceptions of Canada and America (as far as I'm aware). All of the metals on the periodic table of elements that end in "um" end in "ium", with the only universal exception being...

That crap is a primarily North American trait, these days. There's still respect and civility elsewhere in the world.

Hate to break it to you, but the plates are probably stolen and likely won't lead to any useful clues, either. Best defense against theft is a shotgun.

They load bikes into minivans and drive off. The motorbikes are never turned on. Total waste of time with severe exposure risk. A bike can be easily lifted by 2 guys -- they don't even have to be meathead types to get it into a van.

Thieves don't steal bikes like they steal cars. Bait bikes only work if cops are literally watching the bike 24/7.
