Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

Hey All, So after much cursing and throwing of tantrums, I eventually got the bike to go. Pulled the carb apart an cleaned it then put fresh gas in. Also adjusted the pilot screw, which seems to have solved the problem. Back on the road now. Thanks again for all the help and input everyone...

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

Thanks again for all the help guys. Aside from measuring the float level I've done everything you have mentioned. The airfield and box looked ok, I blew it out with some compressed air just to be sure. I put the pilot screw back to factory recommendation as per my service manual and ran some...

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

When I took it off the bike my carb looked as clean as the one in the video did after the cleaning, aside from the gas that had pooled inside.

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

I let it run for 5 to 10 min with petcock on reserve. I did take the carb right off the bike, but paid more attention to the actually body of the carbourator instead of the needles, I'll give it another shot and let them soak this time. What is the best way to measure the float bowl and needle...

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

So I pulled out the carb today and have it a cleaning, but it didn't solve the problem. I'm getting some pretty thick looking exhaust now, and it sputters quite a bit when giving it any throttle. There was a lot of gas inside the carb when I pulled it off, each section I opened drained a fair...

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

Hahaha, up until 3 months ago I lived around the corner from flying squiril motorcycle and didn't even know it was there. I'm near dufferin/bloor now but I'm in the east end fairly often, I'll check it out next time I'm nearby. Thanks bud

Bike will idle but won't accept any throttle

Hey all, So I'll give the full story as to how this all went down for clarity reasons. I took my '99 Rebel 250 out to give it a wash today. While I was washing I noticed that my petcock was switched to reserve (I brought it home a few days ago and had switche over right around the corner from...

    Being nice doesn't count

I may be wrong, but depending on where you are If you are part of a procession (funeral, large riding group etc..) and the first vehicle enters an intersection legally the rest in the procession can continue through without stopping. I'm pretty sure Ontario does not allow this. correct me if I'm...

    '99 Rebel won't turn over?

Sorry about that, I guess I didn't understand the question. I'll try that poor mans compression test before I go to Canadian tire to grab the proper one. A buddy of mine is a mechanic and he's coming by tomorrow to take a look, hopefully he can figure it out. Thanks for the help everyone, I'll...

    '99 Rebel won't turn over?

The device I used bridges the connection between the spark plug and the spark plug cap. It light up when I was trying to start the bike, but it won't turn over

I'm not quite sure how to do that, I'll look it up and give it a try.

    '99 Rebel won't turn over?

I checked the air filter and the spark plugs, bot seem to be fine. Pulled the plugs out and brushed them, I didn't see too much soot, using the brush didn't really make a difference. Also used a spark plug tester, and it lit up on both sides. Any other ideas?
