LOL yeah unnecessary amount of pressure is a good way to put it. It's most pronounced when one hand is occupied holding the clutch and I reach across with my right hand to open it.

It could be something as simple as adjusting pilot, all carbs have screw to adjust air/fuel mix... but sounds like may be too late to try now that shop has already started working on it. Sorry to hear your riding has had to wait, but like others' have said, maybe best after the course... good luck!

Others have already answered your questions, but for #5 I'll add that I bet you are turning without leaning the bike over, you must let the bike "fall" into corners to turn smoothly and more importantly to make turns tight enough to stay in your lane.

Another vote for likely ok. I changed plugs on my bike last weekend (NGK CR7E) and when I used my feeler gauge the gapping was already correct. Same experience on 5 previous bikes, only one I recall gapping not being correct for out of the box was my 1992 nighthawk.

"I'm not a Fan of the GSXR front" - gotcha. LOL the exhaust is huge, it's like a fire extinguisher, and the handlebars could use a swap out too.
