I use a Eureka waterproof duffle bag from Le Baron, strapped to the passenger seat with bungee cords. It has never leaked, and I've taken it through some heavy rain. Not bad for under $25. And it is bright yellow for high viz.

I use CAA Plus. Discounts at hotels are great, plus the option to tow 200km, 4 locksmith services and maps galore are awesome. I don't take advantage of all the services, but it is nice knowing the option is there in the event of an emergency.
