Do you guys think it's a good idea to change tires myself? I really don't want to, but some places are charging $200 to change a set of tires on the bike. Have you guys used any shops in Toronto that charge less? I'd be willing to buy the tires from them too(assuming it's near what Pete's sells...

Yah it's perfectly fine, just cosmetic damage. Well the tip of the clutch is broken, but it's still usable.

FYI the bike was written off and I was able to keep it plus ~$7k so not too bad of a result. Also, it was branded as None, which means I can insure it and it is street legal.

Do you guys know if a repair shop will ever let you keep the old parts they replace on your bike? Some have pretty minor scratches and I'd like to have them for my own projects.

Yah they're telling me it will be not at fault, but I still have to pay the $500 deductible.

Thanks so much guys, I decided to file a no fault claim. Speaking with the lady on the phone, she had no problem putting it in as a hit and run and just telling me to get the witnesses' contact information. I'll sadly have to pay $500, but the damage looks like at least 2k so should be worth it...

Well I don't think I'll ever be in an at fault accident so if this one is tough to prove then I'd rather use it, but obviously I'll try not to. Also, what is the process here? I take it to my mechanic and he gives them an estimate on how much it will cost to fix? I'd prefer to fix it myself so...

Well this happened just outside my work and a guy the floor above me took a pic of the laid down bike and I'm sure I could get him to confirm that it was an accident. Also, I think TD has forgiveness on first claim so I may be good after all!

Also, I have witnesses that would be able to corroborate the hit and run. Would the insurance company care at all?
