Mine is gone to a new home, for a good price. A farmer in western Ontario with 3 kids. The bike is for the kids to start riding. Dad already has a bike.
I prefer the newer bikes. Kickstart sounds great but when they took out the kickstart, they added a front disk brake. I'd prefer being able to stop then have the luxury of not worrying about keeping the battery charged in order to start the bike.
I have one. I love it. It is under the cover for the winter now. I bought new in 2021, when I could finally find one. It doesn't go anywhere fast but it goes in style. The stock seat is painful so I got a Seat Concepts seat. Just before winter I put on a new front tire after the stock one...
I don't winterize my bike except for a battery tender. I will ride any day that it is not TOO freaking cold AND the roads are bone dry, not even damp. We mostly use pickled sand on the roads up here and if it is completely dry it doesn't really spray up on the bike.
I finally broke down and got my new Shoei RF1100 helmet out. Bought while there was still a chance to get my size XXXL. It was the last one in Canada at the time. My old helmet is getting up there in age, probably 8 or 9 years. Tried on the new one and damn that thing is tight... Looked at...
I often take my TW200 down to Yonge/Queens Quay from Orangeville. I try to do it earlier in the morning on Saturdays. Most of the time I take Hwy 10, 410, 401, 427 and then QEW/Gardener. Never had much problem. Just ride the ride hand lane and keep my head on a swivel at all the on ramps...
I'm in Orangeville and we've only started seeing grass a week or so ago. The snow banks from the shoveling still exist. And there are only patches of open water on Island Lake. I usually call the GTA, "Florida" because of the difference of weather that can happen just 80kms away.
Misread the forecast or more likely just ignored it. It was nice in the morning when I rode to work on March 29th. This is what I came out to at the end of the day. That turned out to not be snow so much as ice. I had to use my finger nails to scrape the ignition key, starter button, tail...
Does riding around town a couple of days ago count? Had some errands to run and didn't have time to walk to them. So off came the cover and battery tender. Fired up on second try and rode about 6 kms. Didn't even bother with putting the mirrors back on. Only change I had to make was to bring...
