Well at least when teaching the Total Control Classes those attending have realized they do not know it all and are open to listen and learn since they are not there to meet any requirements.
I have had some students take Level I twice before taking the Level II. Depends on how long it has been and it is always a good thing to get instructors to watch you and give you the right tips and advice to help you improve no matter how good you area.
Two members of the Sharp Rider team came to California this past week to work toward certification in the Total Control Intermediate Riding Clinic. I was fortunate to get some time to work with them during that week and am very honored to say that they both passed and will be brining the Program...
I would have to agree, First you have to turn off the ego and realize that there may be some stuff you dont know, and if you do not have an ego, then you have to realize that the end goal is to get home in one piece at the end of the ride, and also realize that anything you can do to give you a...
Every Year, as do my kids. If nothing else we get out and practice certain drills, especially in the snow, find a big parking lot with lots of snow and have some fun!
That is not true, at least not here, I had to go through hundreds of hours of training for each program I teach, and every time they make changes we have to go to updates and sometimes re-take our entire training for a program. Also we have continueing education requirements, as instructors, we...
This can be a problem. But it is not an all encompasing one. I know a doctor who is a quack. Does not mean all the others are and so I should not see a doctor if I am ill. I do however agree it is yet another reason why somone might not take training. And if there is a bad instructor out there...
Thanks Gammaguy21, glad to hear you are taking something, From my perspective any and all training is good. I have not done Racer5 . I have done other track schools. Personally I also did Total Control before I did track school. Doing both I found that the Total Control class made my track...
I think it is more about insurance, especially in Canada Insurance is stupid high. And they want x number of dollars if you have 3 students or 20. and in a parking lot class they are more limited in how many people they can handle. Also when you get away from the largely populated area's less...
Getting the kids involved is great, Both my Granddaughters ride as well, I did a class just with them and their friends one day at my place (I have a fleet of smaller bikes for teaching kids)
Here in the states, some States offer training for free, but most have programs and charge, I would love to be able to offer classes cheaper, but Insurance and facility use is very costly. And from the feedback I am getting from other forums, even free classes riders do not show up too, why???????
