I bought one last year to use with my cbr125r (narrow rear tire and lack of spools made using a proper stand difficult). It can be a little finicky to get the positioning just right but once set up it's very solid. Just make sure you're on a flat piece of ground when you're using it. Obviously...
Should have been more specific. I was referring to the cbr250r when I made that statement, especially considering that a lot of new ninja 300 owners seem to be reporting flimsy fairings that don't fit together properly. If anyone is interested, however, I do find that the build quality of my...
Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm not too keen on dealing with anything that is carburated. After being spoilt with fuel injection for the last few years it would just be a pain, plus I've heard the ninja 250s are notoriously cold-blooded. The otd quote I got for the 300 was actually for the...
Hi guys,
So after a great 2 seasons with my cbr125r I think it's time for something just a bit bigger. As of right now I've narrowed my choices down to either a cbr250r or a ninja 300. Both cost the same on insurance and anything larger is out of the question until I'm 25. Having said that...
Re: Back On The Boards.
I feel ya bud. The ice in my backyard has melted into an enormous muddy puddle that will probably freeze over again in a couple days, so it looks like taking the bike out of the house will have to wait a while longer.
+1 on the above comment.
The first and only time that I've ever genuinely scared myself on a bike was on wet streetcar tracks. If you run into one of the intersections that has them spidering out everywhere across it just try to pick a line that allows you to hit the fewest tracks possible...
That's reassuring to know that there are people that use their 250 when things start getting cold without any problems. A lot of people seem to complain online about theirs taking forever to warm up. Hard to tell though whether that's an issue with all ninja 250s, or just a result of poor...
Somehow I just knew this thread would start up some sort of argument :)
To vrus: I honestly would buy a used ninja 250, but I'm very wary of the carbs. My bike is my only source of transport and a lot of my riding is done on cold mornings at about 6 am. I've heard that the carbed 250s are a...
Interesting read Brian. Thanks for taking the time to write all that down. I'm by no means sold on the idea of changing my exhaust. I suppose I'm suffering from the winter blues and am just trying to find something to tinker with in order to get my biking fix. I'll probably end up buying a...
I know they're not fantastic for the environment, but damn it they're just too much fun to ride for me to stop :)
Can't lose 5Ibs. either since I'm only 140 to begin with. Hardly anything left to lose. Thanks for the input though.
Hey guys,
I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on a full Hindle exhaust system for my 2011 cbr125r this year. The good news is that I can get the system for 25% off, but the bad news is it will still cost about $450. I know everyone says not to dump any money into a 125, but I'm a...
