    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

It's been a while, but I wanted to give another update, which will hopefully give people some ideas to try if they find themselves in a similar situation with their bike. So since 2 years ago, my GSXR750 started getting more and more difficult to start again. Based on what DownUnder commented...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions and also the explanations on how the different systems work. For now, I've tried disconnecting all the connectors, cleaning them with contact cleaner, and putting them together, and this seems to have helped tremendously. It's at the point where I can...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

I've checked for spark and that the fuel pump was providing gas when I got stuck at my parents'. I also try just turning off and on the bike, with kill switch and all. Twisting the throttle (I'm told it squirts more gas in). Ignition while the fuel pump is still pumping. I've attempted to bump...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

I wish it was as simple as that. Unfortunately there are many times where the bike doesn't start even with the battery topped up with the tender. And in today's case, the battery has been sitting for a few weeks in the bike and I'm pretty sure isn't full, since I had tried to start it last week...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

I asked my friend and it sounds like he did check valve clearance not too long ago (assuming we're not counting when the bike was just sitting in storage). Great, that will make things a lot easier. The service manual mentions all kinds of devices such as pocket meters, multi-circuit meters...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

Wow, thanks for all the quick and supportive responses! This is my first time doing this level of work on a vehicle, especially with electrical stuff, so I apologize if there's a lot I might not understand and need to ask for more clarification. I've tried this every now and then, but it...

    1998 GSX-R 750 SRAD difficulty starting

Hi all, Model: 1998 GSX-R 750 W SRAD (fuel injected) Mileage: ~53,000 Km Issue: Engine often doesn't start I bought this bike from a friend who hadn't ridden it in a couple of years. We've been working on it to get it running smoothly, but there is one big issue that we weren't able to...

FS: New set of 110/140 Michelin Pilot Street Radials $240 OBO

Hello, I have for sale a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Street Radials (not the standard biased), 110/70R17 front and 140/70R17, which are standard fit for the Ninja 300, CBR300 and R3 (maybe some other bikes as well). These were purchased during this year's spring motorcycle show, but I never...

Rims - Anywhere with a good selection that's inexpensive (vs dealer)?

Thank you for that! Is the 2011 Ninja 250 front rim plug and play with the Ninja 300? I actually found a 2008 rim as well, but the scrap yard said it wasn't compatible with the 300.

Rims - Anywhere with a good selection that's inexpensive (vs dealer)?

Hmm, that's extremely strange indeed. For rim repairs, I've contacted the following companies with these responses: Rim King - Need rim completely stripped. Even from bearings. Carcone - Sorry we do not fix or sell motorcycle wheels. Tire Butler - If it is simply not cost effective to replace...

Rims - Anywhere with a good selection that's inexpensive (vs dealer)?

Thank you for the suggestion! I've contacted them but they said they don't do motorcycle rims. So far, I've found Rim King and Tire Butler willing to straighten it for motorcycles, although Tire Butler advises me that the bend may be too severe and may crack if attempted.

Rims - Anywhere with a good selection that's inexpensive (vs dealer)?

Optimizing performance isn't really the priority of a newbie like me that's still learning to ride on a Ninja 300 :-? If I wanted performance and was willing to spend another $2000-3000, I think I would get a ZX6R instead of spending it on lighter wheels for the Ninja 300.

Rims - Anywhere with a good selection that's inexpensive (vs dealer)?

I've been asking around whatever Google shows in the GTA, but haven't had much luck yet. Haha, yeah... When I saw those prices, I was like these must be the high performance aftermarket parts. I just need to find regular parts... Can't find any! Well, if the scrap yards don't work out, anyone...

I recently had a little mishap that resulted in my front wheel on my Ninja 300 being severely dented. I'm going to attempt to get it straightened, but I've been cautioned that it might crack because of how bad it is. In case that doesn't work out, or even if it does (it might be severely...
