Hey guys, Going on M test soon and just wondering what the instructor will inspect on the motorcycle apart from the obvious (lights, horns, etc). I have a modified '82 Honda, with no front or rear fender, my license plate is on a side mount. Does anyone know if they will fail because of these?

No idea. The suzuki does have air assisted dampening, but I just prefer the look of front disc brake over drum, it's the whole reason I'm doing this.

I would still be screwing them in. I would be using all my current hardware except for the slider to get access to the caliper mounts. But I get what you mean.

Seems the lower bearing is also 55mm, wider than my honda neck. Couldn't I just use my fork tubes in the gs450 sliders?

Mostly for looks. And I can't find anything cheap except for this suzuki. And yes the plan was to slide the complete front end in the frame so I don't have to mess with wheel spacers.

Hi guys. Purchased an 82 honda cm450e. Looking to convert front drum brake to disc while retaining the spoked rims. Would the front forks off an 82 suzuki gs450a slide into the honda frame?

Don't get me wrong, I'm appreciating all the input. My budget is low because I just want a project to pass the time and get the satisfaction of getting something working. I'm not too worried about older bikes as I have mechanical background. I want something <$1000. I don't plan on doing much...

Mostly looking for consumables such as seals, clutch/brake disks, stuff like that. Are they readily available and does the 84 interchange parts with other models which may ease finding parts?

Personal preferences aside, are the GS400s reliable and easy to find parts for?

So it does exist... I can't find parts for that year in any online catalogs :s
