No offence but I find this OP question very immature, especially when you think it is ideal to get a litre bike coz it gives you faster pick with less effort... if you want "less effort", drive a car. 600cc SS is definitely enough for daily use, tracks, wheelies, whatever things you wanna do...

I will never purchase a used bikes from dealerships, and if you do, be extra cautious or skip the bikes coming from the U.S.. Dealerships is as bad as some private sellers, but at least if you are willing to spend time on it, you will get to find some good private sellers who baby their bikes...

Just simply scrap the idea of having a bike until you can afford it. The waiting period is definitely a pain but most of us wanted to ride when we were in our 20s but we waited til 30s to be able to afford a bike AND insurance (given that you had a clean record in your 20s, which is not easy)

Make sure you check for insurance first.... riding at the age of 16 will cost you a lot and most of the insurance companies will not even insure you since you don't even have a G license yet. A better question is: "Will I be able to get my bike insured"...

It's up to the government to tight up the accident benefit/bodily injury/disability claim cases in order to have the premium lowered. There are just too many dang lawyers filing sketchy accident claims and most of the time, if not all, insurance companies would lose the lawsuit. Insurance...

Just don't... You are too young to die. If you are really interested, get on a dirt bike and enjoy it until you have the $$$. Getting/owning a motorcycle is a very expensive hobby/sport.

"Defensive riding" will get yourself killed in that area... try riding more aggressively and you'll be safe :D
