INSURANCE is unfortunately your best bet for peace-of-mind.
However, I do like having an alarm set up too... just to deter people from sitting on my bike without my knowledge.

Just for the bikes, I believe I'm sitting somewhere around $5000/yr
One thing people often overlook is the hassle of maintenance on all of the bikes; can be sometimes hard to keep track.

I've been dealing with GP for 10 years now and have nothing but great things to say.
Things may not always be perfect from the start, but they are quick to recognize the mistake and rectify it... that's great customer service imo.

Agreed. Unfortunately people are not used to that sort of behavior from motorcycles; they are not expecting this.
PLUS as cool as it sounds to have lane splitting, if I'm driving my car I don't want a bike in between mine and someone else's - I like my stuff too much.

Anyway, my solution: bandana cut-to-fit inside the top part of the helmet.
Don't block the front vents for air flow.
It works pretty well - makes your hair a bit flat, but at least you don't come out with annoying...
All this talk sounds so serious... OP- if you were truly apprehensive of SS bikes, you wouldn't have tried to play keep up with them.
SV650 or otherwise will not change your attitude... that comes from you.
SS bikes are not as big of heat scores to the police unless you are doing something...
ya.. specs are good - waiting to see some reviews at 60fps.
only problem is battery life... I don't think they really did much to improve from the older model in that regard..
I have a set of h11's in my ducati... very white ... very bright... much better than stock halogens and much cleaner than the 6000k hid's I have on one of my other bikes.
I'm helping a friend put a set of these h7's in his Monster soon...
