    ????I am confused...they told you that the Title of the bike had to be in YOUR name for you to bring it accross, or that it had to be in the name of the person who sold it to you (ie the same name as the bill of sale) Please clarify for the benefit of all of us..

    Just to clarify..check the RIV site....If the bike is assembled or built in North America, or built for the North American market, duty does not apply...this applies to most of the major Jap mfrs, Triumph, BMW to name a few...some of the other imports such as Aprilla seem to be SOL..... Good...

    I am in the process of importing a brand new car and it appears from your experience that new bikes are a bit different...do you not need a stamp from US customs on the cert of origin in order to get the form completed by Canada Customs? You do not need a safety on a brand new vehicle...check...

    salvage bikes I called the local lic bureau and they said as long as my documentation is in order I can register a US "salvage" tiltle bike as long as it is safetied in Ontario. has anyone done this?? I am looking at a 2001 BMWK1200lt...apparently there is no duty on it..I called the number...
