Update: I snagged a pickup rental at a decent price a few weeks ago.
Rented some loading ramps from Home Depot for $20 and bought a set of ratchet straps from Amazon.
Despite the sketchiness factor of loading the bike solo, I managed to get it up onto the truck, strapped down, and back home...
I feel like I've seen a bunch of threads pop up here that are related to transporting a bike, but with no clear consensus on the best way to self-transport.
Context: A few weeks go, I had a (thankfully) low speed low side when my front brake seized up mid corner. Apart from knowing that it...
I reached out to AlleyCat a year and a half ago when I was looking to have my clutch rebuilt. I sent an email followed by a voicemail a few days later; he never got back to me.
Figured I'd try again...I called and left a voicemail. Silence.
Wonder what the criteria are regarding what bikes...
Bumping this thread for 2026 - I have a set of 50/50 tires that need to get installed (purchased a while back at GP...I'm not really wanting to travel to Whitby for installation, as I'm situated in DT Toronto).
Alternatively, I'm considering buying a Tusk balancer and taking a stab at it...
Thankfully, haven't noticed any obvious damage. The fork alignment was a bit crooked (I just pushed it back into position; the DR650 allows for this since it has rubber-mounted handle bars), and one of my turn signal mounts was also a bit bent (same deal).
The Triumph pinned under my bike got...
Decided to take advantage of the nice weather we've been having and took my bike to work, parking it in a designated motorcycle spot beside another bike.
Long story short; I came out from work to discover my bike being parked much.....MUCH closer to the other bike than I remembered it being. To...
PSA for those considering going in 2026 - the last day to buy early bird tickets is today: $89 for weekend pass (vs. $110 regular), $35 for day pass (vs $40).
From what I gather from the Motocraft website, the Canada Rides Adventure Rally is no longer included in the day pass, but is included...
Bumping this older thread as I'm deciding between the Rally Connex spring training and the Canada Rides level 1/2 courses (they happen on the same weekend in early May this year).
Wondering if anyone has an opinion on which one is the better pick? I think they run roughly the same length of...
2026 rides: On the more realistic end, doing a few of the "Ride the Highlands" loops, especially the more ADV oriented rides. Otherwise, heading down to the Thunder Bay area would be a dream come true if I can manage to get a longer stretch of time off.
2026 gear: Bike needs a host of farkles...
Has anyone attended the GP BMW demo sell off event? Apparently it's happening today till 8pm.... was wondering how steep the discounts are on the models.
