    +1 I've ridden this route a couple of times. And hardly any traffic when I've been there, i.e. sometimes not a soul in sight. Great for a beginner.

    Managed to ride for about 2 hours today after getting some yard work done. Rode to Stouffville and back to Scarborough for the heck of it. Great day to be out! Possibly the last nice day of the season though.

    Thanks for the tip. I've yet to find any information on the 300's spare power capacity. I've actually been carrying a full sized voltmeter in my backpack!

    I've been giving the voltmeter idea some thought, especially as I'm on a smaller bike (Ninja 300), and I'm not sure what to expect in terms of battery drain from heated gear.

    I tried using a Blueant Z9i that I had lying around, and it worked OK the first time. Set to answer automatically when calls came in. It's small and I managed to fit the helmet over after two tries. Call quality was muffled, but manageable. The second time out I couldn't quite get the fit right...

    You're talking about a thermoelectric generator that would use the waste heat of the exhaust to generate electricity. According to the article there is a significant weight penalty tradeoff for efficiency.
