municipal police officers can enforce provincial laws across the province ie highway traffic act, lla, etc. so theoretically speaking peel police could write you a ticket in Thunder Bay, but would have to use release forms to a local court house instead of peels court house. The same is not true...
Take it from me. Group rides are overrated. People who want to show off and ride beyond their skill set. Safety hazard for everyone involved.
I won’t ride with anyone unless I can trust them with my life….
My Yamaha bolt ( r spec ) on average does about 5 / 100 km (942 air cooled vtwin) for the most part; usually pretty spirited driving....
my pu truck on the other hand is about 12-13 / 100 km and loves diesel #2. 6.6 litres of fun
Well if he didn’t then and there is more than 2000 combined damages, the only charge I can think of that will apply is failing to report a collision under the HTA. one of he only hta charges that apply on or off the highway. 110 dollars and 3 points. After all is said and done.
sorry no. Mischief over is highly doubtful. Hard to show intent deliberately causing damage to your bike. Parking lot crash and he reported it: probably no charges.
"Bit of a common misconception here fellas.
When you report an accident to the police the insurance do not know about it. I used to have to explain that to people all the time when I worked for the police.
Insurance doesn’t know until you tell them.
So I don’t know whether or not the other...
199(1) applies anywhere in Ontario, on the highway, or off. There is an obligation to report a collision so long as there is more than 2000 worth of damage or injury. Just FYI, if he doesnt report it forthwith to a police officer, it's a 110 dollar fine and 3 points.
Yeah. A few years back, I had a sport bike pass me in my lane doing well over 200 kmh . I was only doing 120 ish being on a fully bagged cruiser in the right most lane of the express. Happened at 1 am in the morning when the highway was empty. On the 401 near Markham road... The speed...
General rule. Ramp speed is of the speed the roadway it’s leaving from. Ie Lawrence ramp would probably be a 60 with an advisory speed of I think 30. Lawrence offramp to Lawrence e or w would be 90 etc etc.
Like my answer or not, more people are killed in traffic fatalities than in any other criminal offence in Canada. I’d say road safety and education is a big part of preventing this.
I am a recipient of the saddlesore 1000
rode from south of savanna Georgia straight to east of the city a few years back. 3/4 of the day it was in the rain. One thing I’ll say is I’ll never do it again. The whole purpose of that trip was to put on miles and didn’t get to enjoy any part of the ride.
This was at 1 am. No traffic could get around them... and it was light traffic.
Don't get me wrong. I don't care about them doing wheelies. But when you are interfering with other people...... do it in a lot or on a track. Don't block traffic to pull stunts...
