    Sidecar insurance

Wawanesa for the win! In hindsight I’m so glad TD bailed on the new rig. I’ll be paying less overall for the additional bike and bundling in my tenants insurance, than I was for my current vehicles alone. The bike prices are insane - 2006 Triumph Bonneville: $488 2003 Yamaha Vstar 650: $444...

    Sidecar insurance

TD would have insured a Ural no problem as they come factory made with the side car. My bike is considered "modified" so they won't touch it.

    Sidecar insurance

Seems most company's are fine with them based on my readings, and they're legal, just uncommon and kind of an oddball thing - I've always wanted one and this is mainly for dog purposes lol. I've messaged the Allstate guy on here, as well as Mitchell and Whale brokers, and a friend of mine is a...

    Sidecar insurance

Second guy was more helpful and put me on hold to check, after I explained there was something bolted to an unmodified bike that makes it slower and less apt to tip over - he agreed but alas they won’t cover it. Time me to shop around. I’m 33 with 12 years experience and no tickets or...

    Sidecar insurance

TD Meloche Monnex is my company, the guy I just spoke with said they won't write it with a sidecar on - so now I'm on hold again, I have a truck, two bikes and my UTV with them that I'd have to move.

    Sidecar insurance

I've just put a deposit on a Vstar 650 with a Velorex sidecar, I need to call to set up my insurance on it but I'm wondering if I need to tell them about the sidecar and if I'll run into any issues as a result? Thanks

200-400cc dual sport for big rider?

Does fine on the highway, buzzy for sure at 110-120 but does it ok. Surprisingly fine with passenger, did a bunch of gravel that day too. Gonna slap on some pannier racks and crash bars this weekend too.

Does it count against you if you cancel mid policy to switch companies?

Hey guys, I've been lazy and haven't shopped around for a few years, was getting a great deal with TD Meloche Monnex on my old Ninja 650 previously, but now on my Bonneville it's creeped up to $1300 full coverage and I've added a '99 KLR 650 and I'm up to $1800+ for both (liability only on the...

    Batteries from Kapscomoto

Put a Kapscomoto battery in my 2006 Bonneville at the start of May - so far so good and no issues, I've previously had a knock off battery that lasted just as long as any Yuasa I've had but I'm sure it's hit or miss with quality control. Best part is they had a spring 10% off sale, I think...

Where are the beat-to-hell dual sports?

Yah I looked forever - had the luxury of time since this was a second bike/if i get a deal kinda purchase. Saw this posted one afternoon and the ad had been put up that morning - went to see it after work same day and made a deal - ad was up for less than 12 hours probably.

Where are the beat-to-hell dual sports?

Just snagged a '99 KLR650 for $1500 w/37,000kms and no issues. $1800 on the road and plated. So there are deals to be had, though not ideal for a straight trail bike - I had a blast with it this first week of ownership - 750kms later.

200-400cc dual sport for big rider?

Bought the bike for $1500 w/37,000kms and no issues. $1800 on the road and plated. Honestly probably would have gone DRZ400S if I could have gotten one anywhere near that price but I couldn't. Also for what I'm using it for I think this is the sweet spot. I put 750kms on it this week from...

200-400cc dual sport for big rider?

Picking up a 1999 KLR650 for a song, bigger than I initially wanted but figure I'll mainly use it for touring cottage country and riding gravel roads

200-400cc dual sport for big rider?

Had a blast at the KTM demo ride, the 1290 Adventure R was unreal. The 690Enduro R was insanely powerful, more than I would need for my purposes. Right now I'm torn between getting a cheap 250 to see if I even want to do this vs a cheap KLR650 - there are so many KLRs that they can be had...

200-400cc dual sport for big rider?

Price point is my #1 consideration lol. This is a totally dumb purchase, but I am test riding the 690 Enduro this weekend for fun.
