    T.O. Cycle Lakeshore

I was there the other day, and he's got a used hysoung scooter on the floor. I asked Ralph how much it is, and he says (politely enough) that he doesn't know, it's a good bike but he just has to do some paperwork on it. He said it'd be $2500-$2800. Not bad, I guess. Figuring there'd be an odd...

    Dealers and deposits

I have another question: Once you put down the deposit, is that it for negotiating the price of the bike? Eg. If someone deposits whatever $ over the phone via credit card, and the advertised price is 3K + tax, is the dealer going to budge even 5% from that $3K? Not sure what I want to do...

    Dealers and deposits

Thanks guys. I spoke to the dealership, and they were very accommodating, living up to their reputation. The only odd part was the bike I'm interested in is actually a new demo model, though they advertised it used, and they have new models going for exactly the same price. Apparently they've...

    Dealers and deposits

Hi, What if the customer (me) puts down a deposit with a dealership, and the deal is NOT subject to financing because I'll be paying in full soon after. Also, say I deposit the $ over the phone via credit card, because I can't actually come see the used bike for a few days and don't want...

    M1 exit test help!

I just did mine (and passed). There were, I think five of us (one was on a CanAm Spyder), so there was a lot of waiting around for everyone to finish their test sections, as you go one at a time. I waited in the shade while the others stood in the blazing sun:confused1:, but I think they all...

Dufferin Street From Eglinton to King

South of ~ Bloor: hell. That's probably not news. North of that, it was recently paved, and now it's smooth as silk (but safer to ride on). If you've got a weaker bike and want to test it on smallish inclines/declines, Dufferin St. between Bloor & Eg is a nice little jog now.

    T.O. Cycle Lakeshore

Totally. I've been there a few times this year, and without fail he's insisted he's been in this business for 35 years even though I never challenged him or even raised the subject. Now that his bikes sales guy has resigned, Ralph has even admitted things on the sales side are up in the air...

    Dealership delaying on new bike

This is invaluable advice for any vehicle purchaser. I've learned my lesson. Thanks for the other advice in this thread. I plan to start playing hardball very soon, and have already written to the general manager. I'm pretty sure the battery is obscure, which is the reason for the holdup...

    Dealership delaying on new bike

Yes, caveat emptor and all that. I can understand shipping being out of the dealership's hands. Now, is it normal for sales reps to tell you for sure your bike will be ready on a particular day, when in reality it could take a week longer than they say?

    Dealership delaying on new bike

Without going into too much detail, the registered dealer where I bought a new (well, 2009 unused) scooter keeps pushing back the date when it'll be available to me for pickup. They're claiming the battery won't work and have to order in a new one. I paid for the thing ten days ago. I can...

    Scooter people, pls 'splain.

I can't speak for other scoot riders, but I don't really like summer, and I figure I'm more likely to get in an accident after sweltering in a leather jacket, long pants, gloves, a full face helmet. Of course, getting sunburnt (even after putting on sunblock) waiting at one of our 50000000...

    Trick to triggering red lights

That's awesome. My M1 exit examiner (DriveTest, not a rider course) told us to get off the bike and push the button if it took five minutes or more. Might I have failed if I'd done that?
