I've also been looking into a truck stop near Zanesville. Truckn it down to there, renting the spot for the week, and riding out. has a couple advantages of 1. getn rid of slab, 2. room for goodies after being in the states more than 48 hours :p

I am thinking of heading down the 555 from Zanesville and winding back roads from there to the GAP. From there taking Cherohala to Tellico Plains and then part of the gauntlet, back up to Cherokee and get on BRP all the way up to Skyline Drive at Front Royal and back to Ontario...

c'mon... my r6, which I ride to work, home for lunch and back, and home again in 2km trips gets better mileage than this. And I'm up at 8 -10k rpm. I'm getting mileage between 7 and 7.5L/100km. City driving.

People have no clue for value of used bikes. Frankly, this kind of investment around 10k, i think your not wise to buy used. Used would be for 5k or under.... IMHO. Brand new 2011 R6 can be had in Ontario for $10700.

Only thing missing is turn off your signal if you don't have 4-ways... They don't expect you to turn off your bike, so put it in neutral before you drop kickstand for those with the kickstand switch. They will be watching to see if you forget that sort of stuff. Simple things that sometimes go...

There are two points to the course, riding, and the other safety.... I took the course, having ridden motocross for years... so not a lot learned there, as I was already very comfortable with the bike... that being said, I still picked up some riding skills!!! Secondly its safety... being aware...

What??? CBR 125 will not do you on that trip. It will barely make 100km/h and when you are in the hills, forget it. You will be putting yourself in excessive danger on the 11 hwy. I do that trip all the time k/w to north bay, on my R6. GET A 250...
