They need to figure out how to add an electric motor and a battery and somehow make it the same weight as a bike that doesn't have those things? Do you think the Sonata hybrid should weight the same as the Sonata? Or the BMW i3 without an onboard generator motor should weigh the same as one...

Your own screenshot proves that the 400 and 650 are not currently given the R, and your other references show that they haven't for over a decade. Your claim that Kawasaki waters down the R is straight-up false (in 2023). (We'll disagree on the ZX-14R - which I would say gets the R designation...

The only models with an R are literallly the race bikes. Zx-10R, H2R, ZX-6R, ZX-4R and RR. There are no other Rs. You're flat-out wrong.

What the hell are you on about? Kawasaki doesn't put an R on the 650, nor the Ninja 400. You're just making stuff up.

FYI - this isn't an airbox mod, it's a throttle body mod. The restrictor plate goes in after the throttle body to restrict the overall amount of both air and fuel into the engine.

To add more perspective ... SOAR, which has had plenty of political rumblings and goings on with CSBK (or at least the track has) still manages to not only put on one of the most successful national rounds, but a thriving regional race series with bumper fields, purely by focusing on the stuff...

One of those parties has managed to get along with plenty of people who REALLY don't like them long enough and well enough to keep road racing alive in Canada for decades. The other party has managed to lose a car race series, most of the competitors in what used to be the second-biggest...

It really is a shame. We all had such high hopes when they bought it out. It is immensely sad, and frankly ruined the opportunity Covid gave us to reinvigorate the sport in a serious way.
