Loved this bike when I rode it. It’s not the most comfortable bike in the class or the best off road but on the road it’s a blast. The electronically adjustable suspension that calibrates itself as you ride was awesome. This bike has come a long way since it was first introduced as a 2010 model.
I rarely ride cruisers and tend to forget how cool they are. There's definitely something to be said for a relaxed, easy cruising bike. I wish Harley would bring back the Super Glide though. The Low Rider is a too low for me. Perfect big bike for someone who is shorter of stature though. Amazing...
I've seen videos of what you're describing. The test my wife just did is described in the video at the top of this list. This is also the test I took over twenty years ago. However, I've also seen the test you're describing which is totally different. Depends on where you take it and who is...
If you didn't take the course but are just doing the test they should provide you with a bike. I'm not 100% sure of this so you should contact the place doing the testing and find that out.
When doing the M1 Exit Test you are provided a bike by the testers. I'm pretty certain that they will not let you use your own bike. At least I've never seen anyone do the test on a bike they brought with them. There's usually a variety of bikes to choose from (Groms, CBR 125/300, GSX250...
Just went out with my wife on our first ride on two separate motorcycles. It seems that the slow, methodical approach has worked well for her as the ride turned out to be pleasant and largely uneventful:
Just got a chance to ride this thing and it is a ripper. Truly one of the most fun motorcycles on the market today. This genre of motorcycle is underrepresented on the road.
I've commuted on all three and find the motorcycle the most fun. But the other two have advantages as well. Do you feel in danger when commuting on your motorcycle, especially if you're on the highway?
Yes, that area is really well suited for learning. After business hours Commisioners Street is fairly quiet and the loop around Commisioners, Munition, Villiers and Don Roadway is good for practicing turns.
My wife just got her M2 and basically flat out stated that she did not feel ready for the road. We live in the Beaches and are surrounded by traffic hell and endless streetcar tracks. I don't want her to start riding around here where she will be overwhelmed by the chaos and may take a hit to...
Good point. Many riders who pass need to have the humility to recognize that they are not ready for downtown TO traffic or to go group ride with their friends just because they have their M2. In my wife’s case, we will do quite a bit more practice in the parking lot and on quiet, deserted...
Wow! Not sure what those instructors were thinking. Both my wife and I (who did the test 20 years ago) got to practice the maneuvers before the test. How else are riders supposed to learn the skills?
This is the M1 exit to get the M2. I just called it the M2 because calling it the M1 exit would needlessly confuse people. The M2 exit is done on the road with an instructor behind you on a motorcycle instructing you on a headset.
