    1998 Kawasaki ninja 500r engine Oil

    Congrats on your first oil change. FYI, I have a 99 ninja 500. Have been running Shell Rotella. It is now certified for motorcycles and is cheaper than alot of the motorcyle oils. Its on sale at CTire now.

    Low mileage riders: Do you service by months/years or km?

    I'd also monitor tires by years, not km or tread. Once your tires get around 5yrs and older the rubber has deteriorated significantly and may no longer be safe, despite still having good tread. The rubber loses its flexibility and grip.

    anyone heard of altimate boots are they any good

    I've ridden in a pair of Altimate Speed boots ( ankle high) for 2 seasons. Comfortable. Good basic protection. Never had any problems with seams or zippers. Just picked up a pair of Icon Reigns at the bikeshow. GP Bikes had them on sale for $129. They are well reviewed by SportBikeTrackGear...

    A decent helmet for $100-$150?
